“Beautiful room close to the CDG airport with parking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

This Novotel was much better than expected. Beautiful spacious room with sitting area, kitchenette, and large bathrooms. One was a large tub area, seperate from the toilet area. It was truely a suite. Quiet and comfortable. There was a small garden area in the back where you could relax with a drink from the bar.. I chose it because it has a gated parking area along the side of the hotel. There is a fee for parking 10 E per nite. We chose to keep the car, as we had a late morning departure from the airport, and left early enough to drop off the rental car and have breakfast at the airport. Some reviews said that the breakfast is expensive. The only negative, was that I don't believe there are any restaurants close by, within walking distance. We were exhausted from our trip, so we chose to eat from the vending machines in the lobby. (not your usual vending machines) They had salads, sandwiches, cheese, etc. Plus we finished up food and wine that we had left from our travels. It was a good selection!! It was actually the best room we had anywhere in France. Great internet access. Nice staff. We had a car, so I do not know about the shuttle service. We would stay there again!!

Room Tip: I am sure all of the rooms are very nice.

This was one of the worst experiences I've had in recent years. no doubt, the location is the only draw to this place, and of course if, like us you need to be near Parc d'Exposition there is little choice. The bathroom is like a plastic laminated nightmare. who would possibly use this "trundlebed" i dont know, as it was basically a drawer, definitely not an option for any adult.
The overall feel of the room was depressing and very low end, i am shocked to have read such good reviews.

As i said, the location is excellent, so on our next trip in February we are planning to stay next door at the Hyatt Regency which is where we ate most of our meals. although we havent seen the rooms yet, i cant imagine that they are not significantly better than their neighbor the Novotel. Honestly,I am shocked by the previous ratings comments, as they all indicate a nice stay. Trust me, this is a last resort if there is absolutely no other option.

Room Tip: Be prepared for bare bones basic.

After a week of staying in typically small Euro hotel rooms, this one was a welcome change. We had a queen bed, single bed, and a trundle that fit under the queen. The toilet was in a separate room and the shower and bathtub were both large. Shuttle ride isn't too bad (15 minutes) except that the morning we left there were so many queued outside awaiting its arrival, the bus was jammed with people and luggage making for an uncomfortable ride. Finding the shuttle at the TGV station was a challenge. Our rooms included breakfast which wasn't elaborate, but convenient. There are no good restaurants around there so getting a meal meant compromise (either in distance or quality).

We spent 1 night as we were stopping in Paris waiting for a connection flight the day after. The hotel was very clean, silent, comfortable, and they had everything we needed for our little baby (microwave, fridge, separate sink in the kitchenette, and enough space in the room to fit the three of us, the baggages, the strolley and the car seat.
The people at the reception were very nice and friendly.
There is a shuttle bus from the terminal 3, only drawback is that sometime there is a long wait time.
I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay, and you are OK to be a little far for any fancy place (but ehi, is there any fancy place around CGD???)

The biggest advantage of this hotel is being close to Villepinte (Exhibition Center). Free XBOX in the lobby. Free internet access but a slow one. Connection to RER Station (The last stop). Almost next to Terminal 3 (5min on foot).

Room Tip: Good view to airport runway. Small lifts. so lower floors are recommended.

The room here was beautiful, big and well set up with lots of cupboard space. The bathroom and toilet were seperate and there was both a bath and a shower. It was very clean although there's some things that would bother a real clean freak. There was tea, coffee, kettle and microwave. The entertainment system was excellent with free wifi, tv and a good selection of movies in a variety of languages.

The staff were generally nice although I think the language barrier lead to some of them being unintentionally unhelpful, it paid to ask someone else later on who spoke better English. A staff member called a cab for me which I found very suspect. It was an unmarked taxi with no ID and no meter. He charged me a lot of money and I felt very uncomfortable - so perhaps watch out for that.

The location is a real issue. It is near the airport, but not that near, about a 10-15 min drive, plus the waiting. There is a shuttle bus but trying to get on it with all our luggage (traveling with kids at the time) at the airport was nearly impossible - we gave up and took a cab. To get to town you need to take the shuttle (which was fine with no luggage) to the airport, then take a long train ride to the city. It was a serious pain, taking up to two hours each way, and was especially difficult with kids. There is also basically no food or any entertainment near the hotel. It is in a big hotel complex with one close restaurant. The village is a 40 minute walk away and I was told there is very little to it. There is no restaurant within the hotel so no room service but they have a little fridge with expensive stuff that you can heat in your microwave.

I think if you need to stay near the airport you are best to stay at a hotel within the airport complex, and otherwise just stay somewhere accessible in the city. It really was a great, comfortable room, but if you actually want to get out and about (unless you have a car) it is not ideal.
