“Good for exhibitors”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The biggest advantage of this hotel is being close to Villepinte (Exhibition Center). Free XBOX in the lobby. Free internet access but a slow one. Connection to RER Station (The last stop). Almost next to Terminal 3 (5min on foot).

Room Tip: Good view to airport runway. Small lifts. so lower floors are recommended.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012 via mobile

The room here was beautiful, big and well set up with lots of cupboard space. The bathroom and toilet were seperate and there was both a bath and a shower. It was very clean although there's some things that would bother a real clean freak. There was tea, coffee, kettle and microwave. The entertainment system was excellent with free wifi, tv and a good selection of movies in a variety of languages.

The staff were generally nice although I think the language barrier lead to some of them being unintentionally unhelpful, it paid to ask someone else later on who spoke better English. A staff member called a cab for me which I found very suspect. It was an unmarked taxi with no ID and no meter. He charged me a lot of money and I felt very uncomfortable - so perhaps watch out for that.

The location is a real issue. It is near the airport, but not that near, about a 10-15 min drive, plus the waiting. There is a shuttle bus but trying to get on it with all our luggage (traveling with kids at the time) at the airport was nearly impossible - we gave up and took a cab. To get to town you need to take the shuttle (which was fine with no luggage) to the airport, then take a long train ride to the city. It was a serious pain, taking up to two hours each way, and was especially difficult with kids. There is also basically no food or any entertainment near the hotel. It is in a big hotel complex with one close restaurant. The village is a 40 minute walk away and I was told there is very little to it. There is no restaurant within the hotel so no room service but they have a little fridge with expensive stuff that you can heat in your microwave.

I think if you need to stay near the airport you are best to stay at a hotel within the airport complex, and otherwise just stay somewhere accessible in the city. It really was a great, comfortable room, but if you actually want to get out and about (unless you have a car) it is not ideal.

During our stay in Paris for business, this is the best & nicest hotel room we had stayed for this trip. The breakfast was simple and nice. The room is spacious, the bed is comfy for just 1 nite stay.. really good value for value , worth your every dollars & cents..

This is one of four Novotels at Charles De Gaulle airport, some with similar names. Make sure you’ve got the right one (on Rue De La Belle Etoile). This place is part of an isolated cluster of hotels that sits peacefully about a mile southwest of the airport. A nice, independent restaurant sits in the middle of the complex; we had a very pleasant and reasonably-priced meal there. Our hotel room was very spacious, with lots of nice features. It was very clean and quiet; we didn’t hear any planes. The hotel has a really large and pleasant lobby. The numerous photos on their Web site are a good representation of the facilities. We thought the breakfast was a bit high-priced, for what you get. Otherwise, the hotel was quite a nice bargain, for its very decent quality and airport proximity. The front desk staff people were competent and pretty helpful. Sometimes, the staff seemed a little detached. But to be fair, all these airport hotels lack the advantage of being anchored in a local, Paris neighborhood. Many clients stay there only 12 hours – hardly enough for much rapport. At a minimum, an airport hotel needs to provide good, functional service, and this hotel certainly does that, in a pleasant setting.

We were coming from the Paris - Gare Montparnasse train station, where we caught the convenient line #4 of the Air France bus (“Les Cars”) to CDG airport, Terminal 2. Then we took the CDGVAL tram to Terminal 3, where we caught a free shuttle to the hotel. (There are many shuttle buses, so take care to catch the right one.) Air France has three other Paris bus lines running to CDG. You can also use RER regional train line B or the RATP city bus line’s Roissy Bus (which is thriftier but only departs from Place de l’Opera; Roissy-en-France is the airport’s town). Of course, a taxi will take you directly to the hotel.

Some Tripadvisor guests have had departure troubles with the shuttle bus. Our departure went fine. After a very winding route, our bus dropped us at Terminal 3. We took the CDGVAL tram to Terminal 2 and eventually caught our flight. (At least some terminals, like 2E and 2F, only list their own departures. Don’t panic if your flight isn’t shown; you’re probably in the wrong building.)

This hotel has a lot of potential. It is in a great location if you are wanting to stay near the airport, it has a shuttle to and from the airport, the soundproofing is excellent, and the room layouts are great. Unfortunately there seems to be a significant staff performance/management problem at this hotel. First, we were greeted with a huge brown stain on the carpet as we walked in the door, one that could be easily fixed with a steam cleaner in 2 minutes. Also, there was a booger the size of a cockroach on the wall near the bed; again, nothing a little cleaning cant fix. At 9AM in the morning while we were still in the room, in pajamas, with the "do not disturb" sign out, a staff entered our room with a master key, speaking in French, and pointing to a record-keeping book. When we addressed this with the manager, she simply said "OK, I will look into it, and find out what happened, and get back to you," which she never did. The shower faucet was broke and sprayed water all over the bathroom. The room just did not "feel" clean. The breakfast was a seriously lacking, and exorbitantly overpriced at 15 Euro (for what you where getting) continental breakfast (bread, yogurt, coffee, boiled eggs that you have to make yourself in water that looks like it is never changed), and they dont tell you that it costs 15 Euro until you check out--it looks like it is free, and should be for what they give you, but they automatically charge everyone for the breakfast and take it off if you dont take it. The morning shuttle was a nightmare. When we arrived at the front for the shuttle, there was already two bus loads of people waiting, and no line or order to the process. We did not get on the first bus that came around, and the second one, 20 minutes later, my small children nearly were trampled by the hoards of people shoving and forcing their way onto the bus. All of the aforementioned problems could be easily resolved with better management and policies. As I said, this place has potential, I wanted to like it, but will not stay here again; It is not up to typical Novotel standards. Go to an Ibis in the area where you pay a fraction and get treated about the same at about the same level of cleanliness and staffing.

As an aside, don't use this hotel as a staging point into Paris. It take 20-30 minutes to get to the RER-B, 45 minutes from the RER-B to the Notre Dame stop, so you are looking and 1.5-2 hours to get into Paris from this hotel.

Room Tip: My tip for a good room would be to find another hotel.

Took shuttle 3 times. 1st time, there was so much overcrowding that the shuttle took nearly 45 minutes to get to the airport. Bus drivers were joking with each other, trying to cut each other's path with the shuttle buses, almost colliding 2 buses in the process. Luggages blocking exits, completely unsafe and unprofessional shuttle service. The next day, the shuttle was delayed by 30 minutes, no notificiation, staff at the counter looking as if it is not their problem. Every employee in that building is bored and thius is truly an airport hotel with all the impersonal aspects that come with it.

Room Tip: Whatever shuttle transit time is advertised must be doubled. On a busy morning, it will take you 1 h...

Ibis treats you just as badly for half the price. The "suite" is indeed a very large room by French standards. The well worn room has a microwave and an empty fridge. There is no hotel restaurant, but one nearby for the isolated cluster of hotels that have a common owner/manager. The outside restaurant is not open for breakfast, just lunch and dinner (when it is jammed as there is no choice for anyoine staying at the hotels).
The hotel has a self serve rudimentary continental breakfast, with an egg that can be boiled if one wishes. Plastic "glass"ware, as in the room.
Save your money - stay at the Ibis beside it.
