“Acceptable for brief stay in vicinity of airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2011

We stayed one night because of a missed connecting flight. For this it worked out successfully.

We found the wait at the airport for a shuttle bus excessive -- about 30 minutes given that it was freezing cold and the pick-up point located at an open sidewalk. (The group of hotels along the route would benefit from additional buses, even if smaller, for more frequent service).

The reception staff were cooperative in assigning us a room roughly according to our preferences. The room and bathroom were clean, well-appointed, comfortable and adequate for our limited needs. We were glad of and used the coffee and tea making facilities in the room.

Soundproofing in the room was acceptable from noise outside the hotel, but not from cleaning staff and other movements in the corridor (unfortunately typical with most hotels that we have ever stayed at throughout the world).

We had dinner in the restaurant. The food was acceptable but the service slack: after our first course wait staff forgot to bring us our main course until we enquired, and dessert after that was slow to come without prompting. We agree with a previous reviewer that the wait staff seem to focus their attention on patrons from whom they expect a big tip, attending to others as an afterthought -- if at all. Restaurant-kitchen management needs improvement, based on our experience at least.

You can walk into Roissy-en-France village (which we did not have time to do); otherwise, this hotel -- along with others along the street -- exist for their proximity to Charles De Gaulle airport.

Few month ago I traveled to france with my family. In first night we stayed in the Holiday Inn hotel near airport. I really enjoyed the unique design of the lobby,my room was clean and tidy ,is good for two person stay. For family with children was not enough space.
Also there was free wi-fi in the room.. Very useful free airport transfer.
breakfast was good, there were a lot of food from all the kinds, the dining room was enormous and good looking.
In conclusion, I recommend this hotel for short stay in airport area.

Our schedule almost demanded that we spend a night in a Paris airport hotel on our way home. And there they are: all in a cluster, and I suspect they are all much the same....

Our main complaint is with the in-house restaurant. We usually avoid such things but, being tired and at the end of a long holiday, we took the easy way. The place was clearly geared to Americans. My husband ordered the most expensive steak of our six-week trip, but it was no tenderer than any of the others. I ordered the "menu" at 20 euros (twice what we had been accustomed to pay) which was "pork ribs" and Iles Flottantes. "Pork ribs" turned out to be bacon bones, what we would use for soup, and very, very salty. I couldn't finish that plate.

The next problem was the service. There was one waiter playing the clown, acting up to a large family table of Americans, and neglecting the rest of us as a result. Clearly, he was angling for a large tip and probably got it, but we walked out after waiting 45 minutes to be served with dessert. Because I had ordered the "menu" we knew I would be charged for that dessert, so we went to the reception desk and complained. They didn't seem too fussed, but we were assured that the dessert would be deducted from our bill.

When checking out next morning, we asked for an itemised bill for our dinner. So much for computers: they went scrabbling through boxes of paper dockets for about 15 minutes, while all the time people were queuing behind us, anxious to get to their flights. The staff were all very young, and no-one seemed able to make a decision. Finally one young girl said we would not be charged anything at that point, and that a manager would ring us when we got home (at the other side of the world, about a 5 euro dessert). Of course no-one ever did, and our credit card was just charged.

Small amount involved, but there's a principle. And the moral is to never stay at a hotel aimed at Americans.

We liked the hotel. The room was on the small size but it was OK for one night. The hotel and the room were very clean. It was nice to arrive to a kettle to make a cup of tea after a very frustrating ride on two shuttles to reach the hotel. The "Black Bus" as the hotel shuttle is called is quite unsatisfactory. It stops at many hotels and is not meant for so many travellers with suitcases. Count on one hour from your arrival until you reach the hotel, same in the morning.

Pretty standard Holiday Inn Express, room was clean and spacious and check-in was quick and friendly (but I spoke French, maybe why). Check out service in the very early morning, however, was not so great - and the airport shuttle was confusing or tardy - I actually did not like the treatment upon departure.Felt rather like they were happy to be rid of me and did not care if I made my flight or not. The hotel is a bit far away from the Terminals. The Hilton is much much closer and is much nicer if you can afford it. Roissy town had some good eating options at night + and is an interesting and fun little detour, very surprising so close to CDG a whole different world. I was given a free internet voucher for 1 hour but it was so limited I had to pay the hefty fee for unlimited access, which was disappointing.

Bait and switch with rooms; mediocre "executive suite" with Murphy bed. Plenty of other choices in the Roissy area.

I stayed at the hotel during a layover between flights. It was a bit of a walk to get to the hotel shuttle from the terminal my flight arrived at. Its about a 15 minutes ride and one of the last hotels on the route.

The checkin process was a bit inefficient, but no great concern. The hotel is showing its age, particularly in the hallways, but the room itself was well-appointed. A bit on the small side, but clean and well laid-out. The bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated so was pretty much spotless.

You need to get Internet access logins from the reception (where you also get a chance to browse through jewellery and watches for sale - generally of the cheaper variety).

The checkout process was much better, and my minibar consumption, Internet use and shuttle charges were waived with the explanation that this was because of my IHG hotel chain frequent guest status. I suspect I also received a room upgrade when I checked-in.

Overall an OK option for a layover between flights if you are short on time and don't need to go into the city.
