“Fine for CDG flights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

We had an early morning flight out of CDG so chose this facility due to its proximity to the airport. It is located at terminal 3 and is a (free) train ride to the other terminals. We were at terminal 2 and it took less than 5 minutes to get there. There rooms are modern and clean. We had a small issue with our room which was promptly corrected by a staff member. Note that there is no gym at this facility so don't count on a workout before heading to the airport. Overall would stay again if needed a room before flying out at CDG.

So convenient for our last night in Paris before leaving for home, just off the CDG-VAL RoissyPole stop. Courteous hotel staff, excellent sound-proofing, and a surprisingly good restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Wonderful shower after having the typical small corner showers around France & Italy.

We really had been dissapointed from that Novotel. Very expensive, but just average Standard and just a very "basic" Service. Also our Travelfellows did not like it there. Also the novotel Restaurant was expensive and better get to Train Station and buy there some Snack.

Dear guest
Thank you for your comments. Our Novotel Café restaurant has got a brand new a la carte menu which starts as low as 17 euros. The instant nomade then offers you a large choice of snacks and sandwiches, and drinks at any time of the day or night.

Best regards

Just Average - in comparison with the Price and the pretty "usual" Service. Nothing Special. Restaurant was good, but very (very!!!) overprized. You pay there only the good Location, but get just a 3 Class Hotel for 5 lass Price!

We had a fantastic stay at the Hotel Novotel CDG! We only stayed one night, the night before we came back home but it was great! It was comfortable and large (we had to get 2 rooms because there were 5 of us but we got connecting rooms). One room easily could have handled 4 people with the King bed, a pull out trundle, and a couch (which we determined was probably the softest of all the beds). They were all comfortable beds, yet firm. It was nice that there was both a standing shower (with full doors!) and a huge soaking tub! It was also nice that the toilet had it's own room with a sink. There was a wet bar area with a sink, a mini fridge, and a microwave. There was a large desk/table for working or eating and curtains to divide the room for privacy within the family. We felt so at home here and the staff was very helpful! There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance (we got pizza at the local pizza place - BOGO free, no less!) And little grocery stores to purchase anything you might need! There was even a little playground that my youngest played on while we waited for the pizza. In the hotel lobby they had a massage therapist giving free chair massages until 9pm! What a great end to a challenging vacation!

Room Tip: We had a ground level floor and we didn't hear any noise! We were right next to the airport and...

Like most travelers who stay here, we had a short overnight stay during our 16 hour layover. We arrived in terminal 2 and took the CDGVAL (a short walk past baggage claim) to terminal 3. From there, you can clearly see the entrance to the hotel. Check-in was quick (no lines) though would not describe the reception as friendly. The restaurant and bar are open late, but we opted to go into the city to see the Eiffel Tower (my 4-year old's wish). The train to the Eiffel Tower (from terminal 3) costs a little over 9 Euros and takes about an hour which includes the transfer time and walk. We opted to take a cab which was 52 Euros each way and took about 30 minutes. Our hotel room was spacious (for Paris), clean, modern, and quiet. We had the breakfast buffet in the morning (decent at 16.5 Euros), and the attendant was helpful and attentive. The return to terminal 2 took about 15 minutes. CDG is a very busy airport, and we stood in three long lines before reaching our gate - check-in, passport/border control, and security. We got through in 1.5 hours without checked luggage.

Location of the hotel is great, if you are just staying overnight near the airport because you are leaving early the next day. It's located very close to the Terminal 3 stop on the CDGVAL airport tram. It is located just outside the airport itself, but you can enter while you are still technically in the airport itself by walking, after taking the CDGVAL tram (but you will have to exit security). I highly recommend the CDGVAL tram; it is free and will get you there in 2 stops.

The hotel is very adequate. No problems with noise or smoking while I was there (but I did have to ask for a non-smoking room). The restaurant and bar have good food, but very slow service. They need to hire more waitresses and bartenders. The waitresses move very fast, but they are nearly overwhelmed with customers, so it will take a while to get your order taken and to get the cheque. Restaurant reminded me of 70's decor, like I saw in Honolulu. (It's not tropical, it just reminded me of the 1970's.) Food is a bit overpriced, but I guess I expected that.

On the elevator, Floor 0 (zero) is ground floor. In your room, toilet is in a separate small room than the shower/sink, which was nice. You get 6 hours of free wifi in your room through their Orange system; it worked ok, but I think I accidentally got logged off at some point and could not log on again.

Directions and further comments:
You will be 2 stops from either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 (the 1st stop is always a parking garage). See the diagram of the CDGVAL train online to get a better picture. It's not intuitive, but you will see it easily from the diagram.

Also, check the wikipedia article for Charles de Gaulle airport; you will be able to see which Terminal from your airline is arriving/departing.

Room Tip: Ask for a non-smoking room.
