“Good value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Stayed for business in this hotel. Rooms were cheap and well maintained although it smelled of air freshener all over the place. The rooms' size was decent and well-equipped (TV etc...) Bathroom was spacious and well designed. Only downside: the room was placed in an annex of the hotel with no lift and overlooking some dodgy inner courtyard....

This is a small well situated hotel. Staff is very helpful, friendly and went out of their way to describe local amenities and historical sites.
The room we were given was very small, it is designated XL so we expected a larger room with full bath not shower only. Room facilities were good – large LED TV, hair drier, drinking water and coffee maker with ample coffee and tea sachet
The bed was queen size but the mattress protector was very noisy therefore cut sleep time. One reason for booking this hotel was that it had a restaurant; we were told that it was closed on check-in; this should have been indicated while booking on-line.
The breakfast was typical continental with ample fruit, cereals, bread, cheese, coffee etc. Breakfast room was small but ample for the size of hotel.
Reception bar is small and carries a very limited stock.
I don't know why this hotel was rates 3*, should be consider 2*.

Room Tip: Book superior room if possible for more comfort, XL room was very small.

We stayed here for two nights back in April 2012. We were made to feel very welcome by the Receptionist. The room was lovely, a decent size (two double beds) the bathroom was clean and spacious. Breakfast was continental and plentiful - coffee/tea/juices/fresh fruit/croissants/pastries etc, again staff were very friendly. One evening we ate in the Hotel Restaurant and I can honestly say that my husband and I had one of the best meals we have ever had. The steak was fantastic! The waitress was very pleasant and offered us her recommendations - which we took. We would most certainly stay here again.

My partner and I live in Normandy and my anniversary surprise for him was a trip to the beautiful town of fougeres steeped in medieval history. We had a fabulous time especially given the proximity of the hotel to the old town. Not having a door on the toilet was a bit strange but our room (a deluxe) was lovely as were the staff. Highly recommend

Great hotel, spotlessly clean, the receptionist (Virginia) was very kind considerate spoke great English. Paid 113 euros for deluxe room and garage. Brilliant room no 206 quiet (triple gazed) large very comfortable bed, brilliant shower etc, fridge, tea (great selection of teas) biscuits and a safe. Having stayed in 2 stars the previous nights at about 96 euros this was worth every euro. Great town nice people and wonderful restaurants I recommend the pizza restaurant in the main square in the far corner brliiant service the owner is new very obliging and produces brilliant pizzas at about 8 euros. Far nicer and more relaxing than Cherbourg which for us is over commercialised too frenetic and expensive. Will take 2 hours by car from to Chebourg. Plus unbelievably cheap fuel as you enter the town.

Room Tip: Go for main part of hotel not the annexe as you have a lift and nearer the entrance/exit

We stayed one night at Les Voyageurs in late May. The hotel is well located near two main squares in Fougeres. The restaurant is well rated but we did not eat there. Walked up to the square and ate outside. Our room was in the annexe. It was quiet but a little warm and there was no elevator going up one flight. Might be a stretch to call it a 4 star hotel.

One of the best things about the Hotel Les Voyageurs, a Best Western, is its convenient location in the centre of Fougeres. Cafes 2 minutes away, shopping and restaurants a few minutes walk. One of the nicest things about the hotel are the charming receptionists. Virginie welcomed us and greeted us with a smile in the morning, and the evening receptionist was helpful and happy to chat.

Our room was comfortable with an excellent bathroom with closet area for luggage and clothes. Light and airy, the room looked over a fountain square and the furnishings were neat and functional with coffee and teamaking facilities. No private parking but the area is very safe and overnight parking on the street behind the hotel was not a problem. There is also a car park within 5 minutes walk.

Room Tip: To avoid the dazzle of streetlights at night, choose a room towards the back of the hotel.
