The quay in Cancale is lined with restaurants, many appear cafeteria style with massive menus serving hundreds of people at a time, Le Surcouf is a small restaurant with a much nicer ambiance for enjoying a seafood meal. The lunch menu for 15 euros is excellent value. Our entrees were excellent: fish soup and 9 oysters nicely presented on a bed of seaweed. For the main, I had perfectly cooked salmon served with a savory Breton and my husband had moules which were a bit overlooked. Really enjoyed our dessers: raspberry and lemon sorbet and chocolate pot. As mentioned by another reviewer, portions may be on the small side but for us, it was perfect. We also thought the service was efficient and professional. With wine our meal was 50 euros. Overall, good quality and worth a visit.
