“Long weekend away ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

Travelled here via booking with eurocamp! Got a great deal for a quick getaway and set off on our drive from London! Let's just say if you are going to come here, to make it a weeks holiday or more as 4 days turned into 2 with 2 days travelling. Al be it, when we finally arrived the sun was setting beautifully over the sea and the place was lovely! My 3 year old had a blast in the shallow pool with the slides etc, good food and beautiful town of benodet!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

We have just returned from a week at this wonderful campsite with our three boys aged 5,2 and 11 weeks.
Firstly, the drive was relatively stress free. Nice straightforward drive on good roads. Took around 7 hours from calais.
Arrived at 6pm to our lovely clean spacious three bed esprit caravan( euro camp). Lovely quiet pitch. Safe for our boys to play.

The pools here are the nicest I have seen, so clean and safe and child friendly while not feeling like a playground. The pools I can only describe as lagoon like. Lots of palms ! . There is a large indoor area which is brilliant if it's a bit chilly.

Kids clubs are brilliant for all ages. Kids reps Alana and simon particularly stand out in how they interact with the kids.

Not only is this a lovely clean friendly place to stay it's setting is also very beautiful , lovely clean beaches, a short walk to benodet. We have had a wonderful relaxing time .

Just back from St Gilles and cannot speak highly enough of the place - both the EuroCamp and the Sunelia team were brilliant! Pool is such a clever design to cater for both the extremes of weather we had this week (height of summer at start of week & heavy showers at the end). Swimming and bike riding lessons from Simon and Alana very much loved by our 5 & 3 year old! Take away pizza was lovely and fresh and very convenient when we arrived on site late on day 1.

Wife still smiling, even after me insisting on doing the full journey home to Northumberland in one day.....

We stayed here for two weeks and can't say enough good things about it. Our two loved it, aged 5 and 3. They loved the camps and the pool. Nicola and Simon were really great with them as were all the other girls at the fun stations and mini club. The kids loved the disco and all the activities that took place. The pool is great on the wet days as the indoor pool is ideal. We didn't use the café much other than ice-cream but did eat in the restaurant on the last night and it was very nice, the food was really tasty. The camper van can get quite cold at night but we were prepared and had brought some extra blankets. The staff there could not be nicer and we found it great for the kids, it very child friendly.

Room Tip: Can get cold at night to extra blankets are a good idea.

Went here a few years ago as a family and really enjoyed our stay. The swimming facilities are fab with waterslides suitable for all aged children. Caravans were spacious and there was a lot of outdoor grass/play area. Perfect for families! Peaceful and would definitely visit again

We stayed as two couples without children, and chose this campsite as it was a good location and we also struggled to find tents with eurocamp at other sites, most only had caravans.
We stayed in a supertent, and would recommend Euro camp, over Keycamp who we stayed with last year.. the tents were newer as keycamp tents were a bit tierd! Only problem we did have is when it rained, there were several small holes in the groundsheet and water started to run in to the tent, due to the slope of our pitch.
We didnt see our rep once, and felt that he didnt make a resonable effort to visit us and explain the local attractions, site facilities etc.
Site is in a great location, Benodet is a lovely pretty town, and there was lots to do nearby! Good supermarket 5 minutes in car and the beach was lovely!

As far as the facilities were concerned, we felt that these were not as good as other sites we had stayed on.. the pool was really nice, but as others have said not enough sun loungers, and they were very strict about having no ball games even when nobody else was in the pool which we felt was unfair.
Shop was good, with gorgeous fresh bread and coissants every morning and evening! Good stock of drinks, bbq food and snacks.. didnt feel that it was expensive.
The bar was very expensive, we didnt use it much, which was dissapointing as we would have done if it was cheaper.. didnt use resturant, as very 'english' menu, some lovely resturants within walking distance in Bedodet.

Now on to the worst point of the review.. the toilets!!
We dont feel that we are fussy people, and are used to campsites with not great facilities, but we didnt feel there was any excuse for the revolting lack of cleanliness with the toilet blocks! We compained twice, and both times the issue wasnt adressed hence why I have mentioned it in our review! On one occasion, we witnessed a member of staff sign of the 'check' sheet to say that the toilets were clean when I wouln't even expect an animal to use them! The floors were dirty and toilets stained, and there were children walking round with no shoes on!
I wouldnt revisit the campsite without staying in a caravan with its own toilet!

We have received your review and we thank you.

You should know that toilets are cleaned several times a day by our cleaning team with the biggest care.
And if you want more explanations about local activities, visits and site facilities, you can come to see us at the reception and we'll give you some informations.

Finally, for the problem with the supertent, you would be able to find an issue with Euro Camp.

You can ask us for further information, Cordially.

Stayed here in a keycamp tent with 6 month old and 2 year old. Nice site, good facilities. Food options were not great and over priced. The pool complex was good but the water temperature was very cold for young kids, even with a warmer outfit the kids would get cold very quickly.

We stayed in July and one thing that annoyed us was that they would only open half the toilet block at the back of the park. This meant that we had to walk a long way to do our washing up. It was busy, but it wasn't until the park was maxed out that they opened the washing and showering facilities near the end of the park. You get the feeling that the owners are trying to squeeze as much profit as possible at the expense of some of the little but important things that makes your stay more enjoyable.

Would we stay here again? no probably not, there are so may other sites around we will probably try somewhere else. We took a walk into some of the other local sites and will probably stay there next time. Benodet is a lovely location though so we would like to return to the area and its very close from the ferry port.

We thank you for your comment about our campsite and took good note of your various remarks. Please find our answers below:
Food: we have taken note of your feedback and will pass it on to our new F&B manager.
Swimming pool: the pool under the dome is heated (27° for the water and 25° for the air), a temperature that you can check at all times thanks to the thermometer that was settled inside. We now have trained our staff to do more temperature check.
Shower blocks: we would always open more facilities if notified at the main reception, do not hesitate to ask for a senior member of staff when having an unpleasant experience.
Again thank you for taking time to comment on our tripadvisor feedback page, please do get in touch if you wish to comment on any of the above.
Best regards.
