“A wonderful small and stylish restaurant with stunning food and smiling service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013 via mobile

We highly recommended this restaurant to you.
We feel privileged to have tasted the superb cooking at this stylish little restaurant, which opened two years ago and is owned by a very talented and welcoming husband and wife team. He, Jérémy Bonhivers, is an incredibly talented chef - every course beautifully presented with a clean and perfectly balanced complexity of wonderful flavours. She, Sonia Lucas, is a charming, informed and welcoming, front of house presence, both efficient and friendly and, thankfully, ready to forgive our terrible French as we conversed together about the food, the region and our journeys.
How lucky we feel to have lunched there on the only day you didn't need a reservation - the first day of the new school year! Formule du midi €13.50 (entrée plat dessert)
We so hope to return and wish them every success.

“One of the best lunches we have ever had ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

This small restaurant, opened two years ago, is simply stunning.
The quality of the food prepared by the chef was beautifully presented and incredibly tasty - from the mushroom tart starter, through the main course of stuffed quail on a bed of vegetables, to the chocolate pudding with passion fruit. Portions were just right, with the flavours of each course carefully balancing one another.
After an aperitif, the recommended Villa Grezan rose wine complemented the food perfectly.
The chef's wife provided the front of house service - with a smile and warm welcome; allied to a lovely degree of humour as we attempted to converse with each other in pigeon English and French!!
If you get an opportunity to visit Issoire, we strongly recommend you get a reservation for this superb restaurant. We will be back ...

“A warm welcome and fantastic food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

We were on our way driving to Paris and figured out that by lunchtime we would be close to Issoire. The first restaurant I called (though it was supposed to be open), never answered and never called me back. Boy am I glad that I got through at Le Pet't Roeau. Excellent service. Excellent food and at a price that is sure not to lighten your wallet. A fixed lunch menu including appetizer, main course and dessert for only 12 euros? Outstanding!

We'll certainly go back again.
