We got there with no reservations and we were welcomed warmlly by the couple that hold the hotel. The man explainned patiently everything about the city and were really friendly. We dinned on one of the places he advised us, and I had one of the most delicious confits de cannard on our trip. Excellent night!

Firstly if you dont have a car, you cant stay here
Secondly, the "welome" we recieved from the Hotel Owner was the worst ive ever seen in all my years of traveling. I was shouted at and had a door slammed in my face for arriving 1 hour after when i thought i might. Staff were unhelpful and the decor is dated.
Our friends stayed in far better hotels and apartments in town. DO NOT STAY HERE, you have been warned

If you want a clean, comfortable, quiet, and friendly retreat less than five minutes' drive from Sarlat's historic area, with free parking and convenient access to the Perigord countryside without fighting city traffic, La Mas del Pechs would be an excellent choice. Its private garden and swimming pool provide a pleasant environment for relaxing after a day of visiting the bastides, chateaux, and prehistoric sites that abound in the region. Each room opens onto a terrace with table and chairs, and a lovely breakfast room overlooking the grounds offers a varied buffet and provides a great place to plan the day’s adventures. We stayed for four nights and congratulated ourselves on having found it. If you’ve got your heart set on a quaint hotel in the mediaeval city, La Mas del Pechs is not the place for you. But if you want to sleep in modern comfort and safety after a full day of exploration, it’s an excellent choice.

We booked for a one night stay. The welcome was friendly and helpful. The whole place was spotless and comfortable. The rooms had everything you would need. The grounds were delightful, pleasant views and countryside. Sarlat is walk-able for a restaurant. The breakfast was exceptional. All the staff were really nice. If the weather was good you could stay here for a good time, using the pool and gardens. Once again the staff were so nice and welcoming

Room Tip: Garden facing rooms with terrace

We visited for one night only, in May 2011. Although the place looks a bit motel-ly at first, it is in fact a quiet little gem, away from crowds, with very nice grounds and a pool worth the mention. Rooms are well-equipped even if smallish, and breakfast is good. Furniture is well used but not worn, beds could be more comfy. Situated a bit out of town on a hillside, so you'll use the car to dine in sarlat, but also makes for a quiet night's sleep. Will certainly consider again.

The hotel is situated at the top of a fairly steep hill above the town, best to take the car in to go to dinner (the hotel just serves breakfast). It has a nice swimming pool and a lovely garden and covered terrace. Breakfast is continental only but very good. They put plastic mattress covers underneath the sheets but they are easily removed.

Room Tip: Be very careful if you use Satnav to get there. The route we were given was through an extremely na...

I used the hotel for an overnight stay and was made very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable with patio doors opening onto a small terrace. Decor was quirkily French but immaculate. The breakfast room was very attractive and the continental breakfast ample and well presented. Reception was very friendly and helpful.
