This is a real find. Although technically a B+B it feels more like a small hotel and it's fine to come and go during the day, which is not always the case with B+Bs. Located on the prettiest street in Brantome the only drawback is that the nearest parking is a little walk away and the street is pedestrianised, so be prepared to trundle your cases along the pavement. Our room, overlooking the street, was quiet, clean, comfortable, spacious and decorated with a fine eye for putting together old and new. The bathroom was large and well equipped. Breakfast is good (we developed a very soft spot for the daily slice of one one of Sandrine's delicious cakes and the jars of Sandrine's mum's jam). The breakfast room and terrace off it are available to guests throughout the day, so you can take a picnic lunch or supper there (and there are very good food shops a few doors away to buy the ingredients). Sandrine and Sebastien were excellent guides to Brantome restaurants, and they will lend you maps if you want to try some of the charming local walks. We stayed four nights and didn't want to leave!
