“FANTASTIC!”

How could you not love this place? The building is modern and beautiful with elevator, a/c and a laundry room. The service is outstanding. The premium room has a separated sleeping and living area. The little kitchenette is well stocked. Our room overlooked a popular square that holds markets a couple of times a week. Short walk to the beach. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Difficult to park right at hotel unless you go up a short one way street the wrong way. No parking but they have arrangements with nearby garage for 15 euro a night. We found free parking on the street near the railroad and Casino Market. Not far back to hotel. Book early to get a good price.

We visited here in August for a couple of days during a holiday to France. We had driven from Limoges where we were staying with family. The hotel is very central and can be somewhat difficult to find. There isn't any parking but there is a car park nearby (pretty pricey) or you can park from free at the station which is about a 5 mins walk. The apartment was nice enough and for a family of 4 it was ok for size. We had to have a cot for our youngest so when the sofa bed was down, there was not much room to move about! The photos make it look a lot bigger than it is. The location is great though and so for that reason I would probably return. The room was also a little dirty, under the bed was really grotty and with a toddler its not very pleasant but hopefully that was a one off as I did mention to the reception staff! All in all its nice and clean and a great location!

Room Tip: La Pizzeria is amazing for food and a 1 min walk from the hotel!

If you're travelling on a romantic getaway in couple, you'd better skip Arcachon altogether or stop there just for lunch with oysters and visit the Cité d'Hiver.
The sea shore is totally charmless family tourist destination and this hotel is exactly in the same mood. Rooms on the market place suffer the noise and not specially charming view.
Inside, it's quieter but almost motel type views, overlooking other people terraces. No privacy.
Depressing.
Hospital-style bathrooms, surely to allow easy access for disabled people and infants. So, unless you need this type of services, my suggestion is just go somewhere else more charming as there's plenty of quaint places on the coast.

The weather made the trip for us. The apartment was smaller than we imagined from seeing the website images - £2000 plus for small apartment for 10 days. Breakfast expensive. But the location is amazing, the French people are friendly and the 'fetes de mer' whilst we were there - were fun. A good break in a lovely location.

This is the second time I stay in this hotel. On my first visit, I gave a very good rating. On that occasion I was staying in a quiet appartement with windows on the inner court of the complex.
But this time the terasse of my studio was directly overlooking the market place of Arcachon. This is a very busy area. The market takes place every morning and is dismantled early in the afternoon. This means that every morning at 6:30AM I have been wake up by the noise of the installation of the market. And this even with the windows closed.
Moreover the restaurant in the corner of the place plays loud music until midnight and even 1AM on some nights. Impossible to sleep with the windows open and even with the windows closed the music can be partially heard.
Add to this, drunk people singing on the place in the middle of the night and you will understand why I will stay in an other hotel on my next visit to Arachon.

We took out a 2 bedroom apartment for 2 weeks in a recent summer holiday. Ideally situated in the middle of the town, next to Market & shops, close to 2 supermarkets, railway station and 2 minute walk to the beach.

The cooking facilities were all in good working order with the added bonus of a dishwasher, microwave, and plenty of pots, pans, utensils.

We really enjoyed the new Terrace facility on the rooftop providing lilos, parasols, very comfortable seating and fantastic views over the ocean and town. We regularly sat in the evening sun with a bottle of wine and a few snacks retrieved from the room. A small 'infinity' pool would be a worthwhile addition for Management to consider for the complete package.

We had a few problems with AC & Dishwasher which were attended to, not immediately but within a reasonable timeframe. The staff at Reception were very helpful (in English) each time we had to deal with them, even making sure we were aware of the firework display on the Pier on Bastille day.

The Reception area whist very comfortable lacks the design and atmosphere to make people want to hang around, perhaps that's the intention. For example, there is no bar or coffee facility and breakfast is on a different floor and has to be pre-booked (special offer of 10E per head during our stay but with very few takers). Overall there are fewer opportunities for guest interactions so if you enjoy that aspect of hotel life, the Residhome is not highly recommended. My suggestion to improve would be to host once Weekly drinks for Guests on the new Roof Terrace.

Beds, living space and room servicing were very good, the ubiquitous sand from the local Plage was mopped up every day!

Arcachon is a very attractive upscale town with the most stunning sandy beaches that stretch for mile after mile. The beaches are relatively unspoilt, no lilos and very few bars/cafes/commercial facilities, just enough but without saturation. There are a decent number of Restaurants/Bars but nothing like the diversity of say a Sorrento. Given the huge number of people on the miles of stunning beaches, I'd say the area is more geared toward DIY Dining, ably supported by the most wonderful Supermarkets on the outskirts of town. The best (smaller) Supermarket next to Residhome is Casino, 3 mins walk and better value than the Market next door.

Make sure to visit Cap Ferret and ascend the Phare for the most wonderful view of the Baisson D'Arcachon and the Dune De Pyla. Boat is easier, but car is also worthwhile allowing stopover at some of the amazing Beaches on the Atlantic Ocean side.

We travelled down to Arcachon on the train from Bordeaux, it was very pleasing to be able to walk with 6 cases from station to Residhome in less than 5 minutes.

We have been to Arcachon a number of times but never stayed in this sort of facility. This is central (only 200m from the beach) and next to the market. The accommodation was excellent. We stayed in a junior suite that enabled you to self-cater but had house keeping facilities. Loads of fresh towels and cleaned daily. Very helpful and friendly staff. Arcachon is difficult to drive in as there is a one way system. To reach the hotel you need to get to the barrier on Lamartine Ave and walk along to the hotel. They will lower the barrier so you can get right to the foyer and unload. If you wish there is free parking up by the station but there is secure, reduced price parking at the nearby Vinca for 10 euros/ day. Here you have your own space and we felt it was well worth the price.

Room Tip: Quiet, non smoking - 206 was good.
