“Clean, efficient, outside town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

This was a very clean, sort of corporate feeling hotel just outside town (maybe a 7 minute walk to the center of Riquewihr). The staff were efficient and as friendly as they needed to be. Nice spread for breakfast. Room was reasonable. There was nothing to love about this hotel, but nothing to dislike either. If I'd picked a hotel myself, I would have paid a bit extra and stayed within town, but this was perfectly adequate. If you want something romantic, this is not the place. If you're looking for someplace that is inexpensive and walking distance to town, bingo. It does have a lovely view of the vineyards across the street.

Cheerful modern hotel with clean, comfortable room, a short walk outside the city walls of the village of Riquewihr and with great views of the vineyards. The bed was a bit firmer than I like but we were here on the second night of a Sherpa walking tour and we were too tired for the bed to make much difference! Good strong wifi signal in the room we were in. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Dinner was provided in our package, and was at a restaurant (Le Tire Bouchon) in the village; the food there was great. The buffet breakfast in the hotel was fresh and tasty. No complaints!

Good value hotel and 5 mins walk from the main town. Breakfast is usual buffet style and busy but does what it says on the tin. Staff friendly and helpful. Great view onto vineyards. They also have a small swimming pool and sauna

Stayed at this hotel on a road trip to Alsace in North East France. The town of Riquewihr is absolutely fabulous and we rated this very good value because most hotels here are expensive - although this wasn't cheap it was good value in comparison and came with free car parking which was a bonus in this area. Clean rooms, very basic - the shower consisted of a hand held appliance in the bath but it was spotless. Big gripes for me - no tea or coffee making facilities - I asked for a kettle and was turned down and told it was normal not to have this facility! No fridge in room. When we tried to get water in the evening there was no response to the bell at reception and no one in the bar (9.00 pm). However if you know this in advance you can take steps to rectify. The location is great - 5 mins walk from the old town so a little quieter than some - the walk is not hard - it is slightly up hill but nothing excessive. The location is close to Colmar and the Alsace wine route so really central for touring. The staff were friendly enough, it was quiet at night apart from the hum of an overactive air con unit and the bed was comfortable.

Room Tip: No facilities for tea or coffee in any of the rooms - some rooms have balconies overlooking the vine...

Riquewihr is a place you should not miss. It is so lovely old town with city walls completely intakt. a lot of little shops, very good restaurants are there in the middle of many wineyards.
We have chosen a cheap hotel for this night we stayed there. It was clean, quite and we got a good breakfast. The bed was only 1.60 m which is very small for 2 people - however it is usual in France. There is a lot of parking space free of charge in front of the hotel. Walking distance to the city center is about 7 minutes. Staff is very friendly speaks French, German and English too. Good hotel for 1 night.

Room Tip: ask for larger beds

Nice, modern hotel. Hotel breakfast buffet ($21 Euro) is a nice touch. but the location is just outside the walled city of Riquewihr. But if you want more space, more modern, this is your hotel. Nice view of the vineyards. but if you want to stay close to the shops and restaurants stay in the old town area.

Room Tip: Stay in town. Skip the breakfast and visit one of the local French pastry shops in town and grab a c...

We stayed here for one night as a group of 4 adults and 2 children most recently over Easter 2012. The hotel was well located just outside of the village but within easy walking distance, even with two young children.

We had a duplex room since we had the two children with us. This was large enough, with fold out sofa downstairs and double bed upstairs. The upstairs area was quite roomy. The bathroom was a tad small but functional. The separate toilet had a bit of a urine smell to which wasn't pleasant. The room had no tea/coffee facilities. Wardrobe had shelving and hanging space, but the hanging space wasn't very large. There was a good flat screen TV.

Breakfast was plentiful with all that you would expect at a buffet.

The hotel has a small but well heated indoor swimming pool which the kids loved. It also offers massages and other spa type services, which we didn't use.

Riquewihr itself is very beautiful and so picture postcard perfect. It was very busy with tourists at the time of our visit, but that may also be year round. It's surrounded by vineyards and there is plenty of Alsatian wine to sample and buy. The macaroons are also a specialty in this area.

I would actually suggest that you find accommodation in Colmar, which is only 10 mins drive away, and visit Riquewihr for the day. Colmar is also very beautiful with all the characteristic buildings reminiscent of the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale.
