“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012 via mobile

Got a deal on treat ticket which turned out to be excellent value. Hotel is lovely throughout. Got a meal in the restaurant couldn't fault it at all. Nice bathroom in the room and a balcony was a nice touch. All staff really friendly. Swimming pool, sauna and steam room all put to good use. We were disappointed the hot tub was out of order. Had a back massage so nice and 20% of for residents. Nothing appealing to us in drumshanbo but went out to dunnes bar and club 360 nearby in carrick great night out, 28e in a taxi. Breakfast had great selection of hot food cereal fruit etc and available to 10.30am. Nice bar area can't fault the hotel at all.

Went here on a deal and found the staff were so lovely. Even tried to help as much as possible when it turned out we had noisey tv watching neighbours. They also upgraded our deal from just a 2 night stay to include dinner & spa treatments.
Room was lovely & the jacuzzi bath was fantastic. We had a lovely view of the lake as well. Bed was really comfortable.
Food in the restaurant was nice but nothing special.
Only down point was that the hot tub was out of order but the swimming pool was good.
All in all I'd go back.

Was worried about booking another voucher deal but this hotel did surprise me.Staff from front of house to bar to restaurant all very friendly excellent at all times.Room clean with all that was needed and quiet even if it overlooked car park.Breakfast first class food fresh and nothing to much trouble some hotels could learn here.Evening meal was very tasty 4 star standard again staff brilliant, only thing that scared me was the front entrance dead plants and flaky paint.Would return again spa good again staff excellent pool, steam room and sauna which was not warm but again staff rectified the prob with a smile.A most relaxing stay was had.

Room Tip: ask for a lake view

Beautiful hotel with a lovely scenery right on the edge of lough allen. Nicely decorated inside and very modern. Very relaxed hotel with a bar and lounge and then a seperate restaurant. Food in the restarant was beautiful, no complaints whatsoever. Got breakfast both mornings of our stay and couldnt have complained there either - plenty to pick from with cold and hot food and you can eat as much as you like. Hot fry food is replaced when low so be patient! Rooms are lovely and spacious and very comfy, we had a balcony looking out onto the lough. Drink in the bar is priced well and staff all very friendly. Reception staff are very welcoming and helpful. The lesuire facilities were a bit pool, decent enough size of pool but was crowded with children when we were there so this hotel possibly attracts families? A sauna and steam room both fine.. usually there be's a hot tub but it doesnt be on during the winter which was disapointing. Also went to the spa while I was there and its so relaxing and staff are brilliant at their job. Lovely, lovely hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony over looking the lough

We received a dealrush voucher for this hotel at work .We had stayed there in March while visiting the Northwest.Receptionist did not seem too thrilled to take our reservation initially as we wanted to come on a weekend? Why do they sell these cheapie deals if they dont want to honor them. Not everyone can take time off midweek.Check in was efficient on Friday, but a smile and a welcome would have been nice.Room basic and never seemed to warm up though radiator was on full.Had to request some shampoo and a hairdryer which was grumpily supplied after an hour.
Room itself seemed clean but corridors smelled stale and the worn carpeting looked like is was gone beyond hoovering and needed a shampoo/replacment.Restaurant cold for breakfast which was standard buffet.Wait staff were so rushed and confused our tea and coffee arrived after our breakfast was eaten.Stuck my toe in the pool but it was too cold to enter.Sauna out of order.Did not go to the gym.No menu on display for Dinner so went to Henrys haven in town and had a great value Dinner with live music afterwards. When we returned to the hotel we found it difficult to park as most of the carpark lights werent working.Scary! Its a barely 3 star hotel with maintainance issues at every turn.It even has all the old Ramada signage everywhere you look.
The hotel bares no resemblance to its website. We did try to enjoy the bar menu on our second night and the food was okay. Our waitress never smiled and the wind whistled into the bar every time a smoker opened the door to go out on the deck.On a cheapie deal its okay for a couple of nights, but if you are looking for friendly hospitality and a bit of atmosphere head for the pubs in Drumshanbo.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view not on the ground floor.

Not a Ramada any more but probably better off for that. My wife and I along with 3 other couples stayed last weekend on 'Grab One ' vouchers. All the rooms were great, clean and very comfortable. We ate bar food both nights and found it very good and great value, especially Sunday night when some local musicians came in and we had a great Traditional music session. All staff, reception, bar, restaurant and cleaning were really great. Sadly the Hotel closes in Winter but we will be early for booking next March.
