We found this due to a conversation with a Normandie native in a Brasserie in Paris. He stays there when visiting family in the area. This small 5 bedroom charming hotel is located in lovely Reviers, Just a few minutes to the Canadian Military Cemetery in Reviers/Beny-Sur-Mer and 5 minutes to Courseulles-Sur Mer (Juno Beach) All D-Day beaches museums, memorials, and beaches are easily accessible from here.
The property is a converted mill built in the 12th/13th century. Is was inhabitable when the owners purchased in 30 years ago. The restoration was done with loving care and the one addition done with salvages timbers and stone from the original mill.
The rooms are immaculate with each room decorated individually. Two of the rooms are reached via a foot bridge across a babbling stream that runs through the center of the property. And oh! what a beautiful property! Une petite paradis or a petite jardin botanique with hundreds of plant species including plants imported from Mexico and Morocco. There is even a palm tree in the entrance yard! Tranquillity abounds!
An excellent continental breakfast including homemade preserves are served in what was once a stable with access to the gardens. Breakfast is served 08:30 until 10:00 but the kitchen is accessible to guests 24 hrs.
Patricia & Jean Michel are great hosts always willing to help and of course, very knowledgable of the area attractions, events and restaurants. Jean Michel loves to discuss his garden although a little bit of French helps.
This is a great value. Only cash is accepted.
