“good hotel with very engaged staff....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Having stayed at the Moniatis Hotel recently how suprised we where to find this hotel great value stay...from checking where everything is clearly explained to the very freindly team that greets you each day, there are some excellent facilities which as a guest can be used...the down fall is the temperature of the hot buffet breakfast, this if in the UK would not suit EH authorities..... over all an excellent stay with some very friendly team members.....

“great hotel, near to town centre, friendly staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

i stayed at this hotel, with two friends, for ten days. as it was very cheap, i had some reservations! i need not have worried, as the rooms were of a good standard, rooms cleaned, and towels changed every day. The staff were a delight, after a couple of days we were treated like old friends! from the receptionists, to the guys behind the bar, to the girls (and boys) at breakfast, nothing was to much trouble! (to be picky the breakfast could be a little hotter) if clean rooms and friendly staff, while not paying the earth, suits your needs then you could not do better then this little gem!

Room Tip: ifyou like sun in the morning, then ask for one overlooking the pool. on the other hand, if you like...

“Moniatis Revisited”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

The Moniatis Hotel is a hidden gem, tucked away in the lower part of Yermasoyia, only 4 Km from the massive dam, which has water sports and some magnificent nature walks.Transport links are excellent, the bus stop is only a five minute walk from the hotel and will take you into the tourist area of Limassol and beyond.

If you feel like a walk you can get to the nearest beach in around 30 minutes, but, the bus only costs around 2 Euros, so if you have small children I would definitely recommend the bus, or perhaps a Taxi. The taxi should cost around 10 Euros to Limassol and the beaches, but a word of warning, make sure the taxi driver has the meter on, or you could be in for a shock! You can ask at reception for a taxi and be assured that the Hotel only uses licensed taxis. My recommendation is Antonis, always uses his meter and nothing is to much trouble for him, just call him on his mobile, or ask reception to do it for you, his number is 99 196436, the hotel also have an arrangement with Panikos, another reputable taxi firm.

Well, I think that is enough about the area, it would spoil it if I told you more. After all, every holiday should be an adventure, and Cyprus has enough for everyone. Join me now as we go into the Moniatis Hotel.

The Hotel has definitely got that "Home from Home" feeling about it, spotlessly clean with the friendliest staff you will ever meet. It isn't just that your a guest, you join the family! The staff are multinational and they do everything to make sure you have a pleasant and comfortable stay. The rooms are well proportioned and have TV and air conditioning, and of course have en suite facilities. From singles to families this place has it all.

Food? well you can stay Bed and Breakfast, Half Board or of course Full Board, with, at the last count 3 chefs and excellent food, what more can a guest ask for? There is a light and airy lounge area, which also has a bar. The bar has everything from the local beer KEO to an excellent range of spirits and soft drinks - fancy a Cocktail, just ask!

There is of course an extensive menu for Breakfast, Lunch and dinner, ranging from egg and bacon through burgers, fish dishes and of course the local Cypriot cuisine. You can also order food and eat in your room if you so wish!

Just outside of the lounge is the swimming pool, there is also an indoor pool, (although this is only open when the hotel has enough guests.) Outside there are plenty of sun loungers, tables and chairs, so get a tan or eat alfresco it is entirely up to you.

Need something else? There is plenty to do and see, ask at reception and they will show you all the available excursions from the local companies, which can be booked and paid for at the reception desk, but, don't forget that Olympic Holidays have some really great excursions that you can go on, just speak to your Representative, the phone number is on the board in reception, or in person when they come to the Hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view

“Generally very good for the Money.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013 via mobile

Overall for a three star cheap hotel you can't go wrong. Don't expect five star service for three star cost!
No tea making facilities .. Is it just us that want that ?
Sheets a bit past their best. But very clean. Hotel spotless. Staff generally very helpful especially polish girl ( aggie?)
Free New Year's Eve party with reasonable buffet and free booze and dj was great although we were rare as Brits ! We did meet other Brits but Greeks kept themselves to themselves. Fair enough.
We met some kind Greeks the next day when we enquired to find a good restaurant open. Most were shut except ghastly expensive tourist traps on the seafront.
The Greeks even invited us to the wedding reception that night at the hotel !
Breakfast was adequate could be better. Nescafé not real coffee. Hot water was tepid. Bacon eggs beans etc fine. Choice of fruit yoghurt croissants etc!
Need a car as about 3 miles from Limassol. Some nice tavernas in the area. Wouldn't eat at the hotel in the evening. ! Overcooked soggy ... But why do do anyway ?!
Didn't swim this time .. My second visit .. But outdoor pool fine. They have a small indoor pool snd exercise room but they're rarely open ! ( why not?)
I'd recommend it.

“Quality budget hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

An excellent value for money hotel. Rooms were large and clean with towels changed daily. Breakfast was excellent and staff friendly and helpful particularly the lovely South African Cypriot on reception. The hotel is on the outskirts of Limassol therefore bars/restaurants within walking distance are limited which is a minor inconvenience if you have a hire car. Bar prices are a bit high but with the very reasonable room rates this is a minor negative.
