“So happy we visited!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Everyone in our family LOVED meeting Leslie and her varied collection of wild and endangered species. She, Jorge and her team of two assistants work incredibly hard to rescue and save hurt, wounded, abandoned and abused animals. Leslie's passion, knowledge and care is extremely inspiring. We asked a million questions and had each one thoughtfully answered. This was a truly memorable visit and we encourage others to go as the ranch needs the funds to feed and care for all the animals. No outside help or support is given for the important work Leslie and Jorge do. They also have a B&B which looks charming and is worth checking out.

“Priceless Toucan rescue ranch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

This has to be one of the most amazing places in the world, thanks to its owners Leslie and Jorge who have dedicated their lives to saving a wide range of amazing creatures who come to them from many tragedies ( inflicted by both humans and nature). They have built habitats to reflect the needs of each animal and work yeoman efforts to nurture the foundlings so they can go back and survive in the wild, but yet have a home for life if they are not likely to make it on their own. Besides the glorious birds, we met otter, sloths ( 2 and 3 toed), armadillo, porcupine, cat, owls, monkeys etc. But the owners with their unlimited reserves for caring are what make this place priceless.

“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

My family and I toured TRR today; what a fantastic experience! The work Leslie and Jorge and team are performing on behalf of the wild life of Costa Rica is much needed and inspiring. We got to enjoy close up scarlet and blue macaws, sloths, owls, monkeys, many other species of birds. My 15 yo daughter got to hold a baby sloth which may have been the highlight of our 10 days in CR for her.

thx Leslie and Jorge!

“A*** Wouldn't have missed it for the world!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

We wanted an 'off-the-beaten-track' place to stay on our way back to San Jose airport after travelling around parts of Costa Rica. Our guide/driver Leo Rodriguez suggested The Toucan Rescue Ranch - and we are so very glad that he did.
Owner and wildlife-rescue-angel Leslie and her husband welcomed us to stay for three days at the ranch. We found a sweet little bungalow in the grounds waiting for us, with everything that you could need included. There was a tour of the ranch, time in the mornings and evenings when there were no outside visitors and we could roam at will amongst the animals, breakfasts to die for, and a wonderful, friendly and welcoming reception from our hosts.
Leslie took us into her own house in the grounds to see some of the sloths and other birds and animals which she kept there while they needed any night feeding (babies) or close attention (injured creatures). Many animals and birds both rare and common were housed out in the gardens, some permanent residents who could not be free and others awaiting rehabilitation into the wild.
It was an amazing place to visit, and an even better one to stay in. If you want close-up sloth encounters THIS is the place to be! Leslie's dedication to the animals in her care is wonderful. A rare opportunity and one NOT TO BE MISSED!
