We dropped in here for lunch with our daughter whilst visiting her at uni in Nottingham. It looked very pretty from the outside and the interior was very cosy with unusual decor. We hadn't booked but got a table straight away. Some prices on the menu seemed a little high at first glance, but there was also the choice of pub food at reasonable prices which you would pay in most pubs or restaurants, for food not half as good.
We opted for steak and ale pie and chips, which was absolutely delicious. It tasted home made and came with a little jug of gravy (which is always welcome). The chips were chunky and also appeared hand-cut and were equally delicious, the veg were fresh and had just the right crispiness. My husband had fish and chips which he also found excellent. Portions were very generous. We couldn't fault the service or the meal and were very pleased that we had chosen this restaurant quite by chance.
