We just had a couple of days stay at this fabulous pub in Graffham, we decided to book this as we wanted to explore the area around the South Downs and were able to do this directly from the pub itself and really did not need to use the car the whole time we were there.
We arrived at lunchtime and it was extremely busy, but James still had time to check us in and show us to our room, We then sat in the lovely garden and had a light lunch and a beer and a glass of wine, before our first walk. The gardens are beautiful and very well stocked and maintained with lovely plants, and a large lawn area, with plenty of tables and umbrellas, and even a couple of old fashioned deck chairs (which we made full use of later, after our long walk )....
Dinner on both nights was excellent with a good choice of starters and mains which all included local and fresh produce.
Breakfast on both mornings of our stay was superb, and is the first time we have had a full fry up which looked and tasted 'healthy' - so well presented and fresh, with fresh coffee and toast to die for. One of the best brekkies we have had on our many stays away,
As previously mentioned the rooms are on the small side, and my other half did have to scramble to get out of bed as his side was pushed right up beside the wall, but the bed was comfortable and the bedding was lovely crisp cotton with fluffy pillows,. And we slept like logs after our long walks, and the lovely New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and local Ale and good food.
Nice Ensuite, shower cubicle was very snug, but no probs, the shower itself was efficient and powerful with plenty of hot water.
As mentioned, plenty of tea and coffee and lovely little ammoretti biscuits for your early morning cuppa.
All in all a very enjoyable stay in lovely accommodation with excellent hosts, great fresh food and an extensive wine list and good ale. With wonderful walks on your doorstep. Would not hesitate to recommend this little gem and would certainly re-visit ourselves when in the area.

Only 3 rooms, not much to choose between them. We were in room 3 which faced the road, a little bit...
