“Fine Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2011

My wife and I had a most enjoyable night at the Chateau de Damigny on October 8th. Vincent and Corinne are great hosts, we enjoyed a fine dinner and breakfast with our fellow guests, and the room was large, spotless, and comfortable with a bath we'd like to re-create at home. Highly recommend.

Close enough to Bayeux to use it as a base for exploring the area, and close enough to the motorway to allow quick and easy access, the Chateau is a little haven. Big bedrooms, peaceful garden, very welcoming hosts and a breakfast to die for, cooked by Vincent.

The Chateau is a labour of love and long may it continue to welcome weary travellers.

Big thanks to Vincent and Corinne and the beautiful baby Paul

We spend there 3 nights. The room are even better then it looks on the pictures. Wonderful and quiet place on side in very peaceful area. The owners Vincent and Corinne very friendly and helpful. Every morning we had a great breakfast. You can also ask Vincent for a dinner which is also very tasty. He was a Chef in restaurant. Place is almost in the middle of Normandy Beaches so you can reach Omaha and Sword very easily. It takes about 20 km to sea shore (15 min by car).
We had great stay, we could relax and enjoyed our free time.

Room Tip: Henry III suite has a bathtub with shower.

We have just returned with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law from a perfect short break at Chateau de Damigny. We stayed four nights and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the visit. The food was wonderful - freshly picked vegetables from the garden - and nothing was too much trouble for Vincent and Corinne; their small boy, fifteen-month-old Paul, was a delight. The atmosphere in the chateau was lovely and we really enjoyed sharing a large family table with other guests and the family.
The rooms are tastefully furnished, very comfortable and well appointed; the grounds are peaceful and pleasant; it was wonderful to see so many different fruits and vegetables being grown - and then served at the table - including home-made jam!
We think it is excellent value and very much hope to return - can't recommend it highly enough!

We stayed for two nights in a suite and loved every minute of it. Our suite had an en-suite serre/observatory offering a beautiful view of the grounds. The room itself was very classically and tastefully furnished yet had wireless internet and flatscreen TV, not that we had time to watch TV as the chateau is very well located between Bayeux, the Normandy beaches and Caen.

The Chateau is tastefully decorated and has very recently been renovated, so everything is new. We also spent some time in the billiards room shooting pool, very nice feature.

We recommend dining with the owner as he is a former chef from Paris and offers a great meal accompanied by lovely aperitif, wines, degustif and cheese, for a fantastic price. The vegetables are grown in a garden on the grounds.

We were sorry we hadn't saved this B&B for the last nights of our vacation, as every room we booked after paled in comparison :-).

This B&B recently opened and our room was immaculate and tastefully decorated (including antique furniture and flat screen TV). We also opted for the dinner at night (table d’hote), which turned out to be fantastic, as the owner used to be a chef. The family who runs the B&B was very friendly and kind. They truly made us feel comfortable and at home. The gardens surrounding the historical building were very nice and beautifully maintained. The chateau is 10 minutes from Bayeux, and 20 minutes from the D-Day beaches by car – so it was a perfect stop on our sightseeing journey. Our stay there was too short (one night), and we truly wished we had stayed longer to take advantage of the relaxing environment. Without hesitation, a highly recommended B&B in the Bayeux area! We will definitely be back!
