“Great little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

The Bonnotto Hotel was very near bars and restaurants . Mr Bonnotto was a superb host as was his amazing staff. The Rooms were quite small but as they were only to sleep in that was ok . They were very clean comfortable beds. The breakfast had a very good selection and was more than adequate . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they went beyond what was required.
I hope to return again and visit this Hotel. I will definitely recommend this to friends .

Thank you for making our holiday

Grazie Susan for the time you spent on letting people know about your experience with us.
you mentioned all the most important aspects about our hospitality: top service & courtesy, great comfort, deep cleaning, very central location and good breakfast. you are right about the room size but, as you pointed out, they are needed only to sleep ;-)
The Hotel is on the average of our category, but we have lots of passion.
Thank you again for choosing us, and we wait for your next visit
all the best susan, to you and all your dearest

I spent 4 nights with my wife and two grown up children at Hotel Bonotto in August. We had decided fairly last minute to go away for a few days sun and relaxation.
What a choice. Densenzano is a great place to visit. Situated on the beautiful lake with a choice of restaurants and bars and a very relaxing atmosphere. We thought it was one of the nicest places we had visited.

Hotel Bonotto is very close to the centre and the lake with a nice beach/lido nearby. The hotel management and staff were very welcoming and friendly and provided good information on getting around with a few tips on local restaurants. The rooms were good, very clean and comfortable and breakfasts in the rooftop restaurant overlooking the lake were a great start to the day.

I will certainly be visiting Lake Garda and Hotel Bonotto again

Stayed for one night only. Haggled the price a bit with the consierge.
Location is excellent, at the very beginning of pedestrian area.
Rooms are recently renovated, a bit small. Bathrooms are either not renovated at all, or renovated in 80's style.
Breakfast was decent, nothing special. The lady serving the breakfast made us real coffee.
Sleep quality: zero. If I could ommit the noise from the street (a very bussy one), and snorring sounds from the guests in the rooms next door, I could not ignore the sounds coming from the floor above (the dining room/terrace), where someone moved some chairs and tables and walked up and down the room/terrace constantly (it's like 3 am). Called the reception, the noise receeded for a few minutes and then continued on till the breakfast (around 6 am).
The consierge was kind enough to give us a bottle of domestic wine, but that couldn't compensate for the night of staring in the ceiling.

Room Tip: Don't take rooms on the top floor. Don't take rooms viewing the street.

dear sir & madame,
it's a kind of surprise to read you. thank you anyway for giving us the possibility to explain
what happened.
first, we do not know why you speak english since when you were here you spoke a real good italian.
we do remember your case because, you are right, there was a problem during your stop here on your way back to serbia.
we don't wanna discuss about the great price we gave you -offered of buffet breakfast, including service and tax.....
that night, as explined, there was a special dinner at the top floor and things went out of our "hands". the night shift guy tried to fix and cool down some partecipants, but with no success.
we are terribly sorry, as I told you at your check out time, and we will do all our best in order to make it not happen again in the future.
regaring you, we thought we had dozed a little your anger but you have not forgiven us with your precise, stationary comment and low vote. but this time you are right and we ask you sorry again -no wine's bottle can repair a cealing's overnight view.
next time you'll be our guest
sincerely,
emanuele a. bonotto

We spent two weeks at Hotel Bonotto in Desenzano in September and had a very positive experience. The hotel has been refurbished recently and is quite modern. Rooms were a little on the small side by north American standards but were very comfortable and kept spotlessly clean as were the public areas. The highlight is the rooftop breakfast room which has stunning views of the lake and the mountains. The breakfast was excellent with many additional touches such as gluten free products and a variety of different toppings for the cereal. Staff were very friendly and helpful and were fluent in English. There were several neat touches - heated towel rails and the softest, fluffiest towels I have ever encountered in any hotel. The hotel is very central, a couple of minutes walk from the lake, about 7-10 minutes from the ferries and the buses to various places in the region. The train station is about 20 minutes away, but that would be the case if you stay anywhere near the lake front. The owner took a personal interest in all his guests and made them feel welcome. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning there in the future.

dear evelyn,
thank you for the time spent on writing your opinion and let people know about your good experience with us.
it's true the hotel has been totally renovated, and yes, we are defenetly about the size of european standards.
as you noticed -and we are glad about it, we focus on service, cleaning, breakfast and couretsy. luckly, we can offer a very comfortable central location -but this not our credit :-)
try to be welcoming and nice to guests is part of my work, but more important, i love it. most of the job is done by my team: i have to thank them.
finally, thank you for the reccomandation and we hope we will make others happy like you!
Happy life,

Overall a fair quality for a reasonable price. Breakfast needs an overhaul. Air con not great but staff tried to repair. Changed our room as ones by the roadside are obviously noisy and did this quickly and without a fuss and apologetic about it. Good location and excellent rooftop terrace

I am suprised this hotel has so many good reviews! We stayed as part of a cycling tour in late August.

We arrived at the end of a long day of cycling during which I had taken a fall. The room we were assigned was on the first floor right on the street and was very noisy. I asked the manager (not the desk clerk) if it was possible to have a quiet room as I was not well and needed a quiet room. He was quite nice and said it wasn't a problem and put us into the disabled suite. 30 minutes later he comes banging on the door demanding more money for the upgrade!?!?

My husband was already in the shower and so when he was able to, he went down to discuss this with him. My husband's attitude was basically - you said we could have this room, if a fee was required you should have stated that up front, not half an hour later. The end result was a heated argument in the hotel foyer. Our two female tour guides came up and were told by him to back off as this was not a matter for women.

Eventually the manager agreed that he should have asked for the increased fee up front and agreed to honor the original offer of the disabled room as a quieter option for us for the night.

Now comes the real joke on us - this is an appallingly noisy room - worse than the traffic :-(

The lift runs directly up the wall behind the head of the bed, and the stairs are also along the same wall, so all night it was either the noise of the lift (which sounded like a train) or people thumping up and down the stairs. I will never forget that night.

The rest of the hotel was a fairly average 3 star hotel, the only real redeeming feature of which is the breakfast room on the top floor which has views of the lake. The breakfast was average.

Room Tip: Don't stay here if you want to sleep, not only are the walls thin between the rooms but the stre...

Dear Madame, your long comment seams done on purpose to make our job harder.
Common sense would suggest to leave the personal opinion and do not comment the other reviews.
Since the beginning we can read between the lines your attitude and for this we do not wanna answer point by point to your insults ("not matter for women"...begging for money....etc).
First of all, obviously you have bad memories about that day since we have been told, by the same tour guides you mentioned, you fell like several times in the afternoon.
We do not understand only one thing: we tried to satisfy you in all the ways; you got an up-grading, you did not pay nothing for that (free 100%), and you are still complaining and talking badly about our hospitality. What's wrong with you?
Any how, thank-you for your visit and we hope we'll have the chance to prove to you that all the other comments are right.
We wish you the best,
Your sincerely,
emanuele & team bonotto
