“A gem in the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014

It was a beautiful experience, spending two nights in this hotel. I could not find it first with my GPS, but I was offered a turn-by-turn navigation on the phone :) Parking is difficult within the walls, but the hotel has a small garage where 5 cars can park as sardines in a box. I had to ask the management for help, but the car fit in!
The room was elegant and comfortable, and the bathroom had nice amenities. They even offered SKY channels for free.
The breakfast is served in the ancient basement. I would really recommend this hotel to everyone.

As others have indicated, this is NOT the easiest place to find, but a great place to hide on the other hand! Antonio is energetic and friendly and his almost-new (only 2 years?) place well furnished and maintained. Nicely decorated as well with modern plumbing, TV, etc. Nice breakfast as well, including the special jam tart of the region, made with the local sour cherries. Maybe best of all, this place is within staggering distance of an excellent ristorante, Enoteca LaTorre so if you overdo it on the vino, you don't have far to go to collapse into bed!

Off the beaten path is the best way to describe this hotel. Do yourself a favor and ignore your GPS or the directions and look at a good map online or otherwise and enter the city from viale raniero capucci then bear right on giuseppi mazzini then left on via della buia and finally left (you have no choice) and right (again no other choice) to first building on left, by the watering trough. Much easier than the other way and very little chance of going the wrong way on one way streets. Your car cannot be very big either. Streets are a bit tight.

Okay, now that your'e there you're in for a treat. The rooms are exceptional, parking is inside the garage and free, WIFI is good, TV is big and lots of channels, bathrooms are large and accommodating and the owner and his wife are careful and wonderful hosts. Breakfast is adequate and served in the subterranean part of this historic building. The owners cannot do enough for you and also own a restaurant down the street where the food and atmosphere is local and wonderful. And, from our opinion, the price is very good. You're well within a good walk to anything in town and the largest piazzas and shopping areas.

We would do again.

Room Tip: No pool or fitness center but we weren't expecting one. This location, once you've been in a...

I have stayed on three occasions and the rooms are wonderful, all air conditioned and spotless.

Initially hard to find because of the complexity of Viterbo but centrally located, no views but within the walled city with narrow streets and alleys that you would expect.

Excellent hospitality, would totally recommend.
