“Perfect in Villasimius”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012 via mobile

A very nice little hotel in the center of Villasimius. maybe a bit noisy as located on a street. Rooms are perfect, prices fair and the manager and stuff very friendly! the breakfast is hearty considering italian standards. they even served fantastic lemon cake made by the manager's mother.

The service offered by the owner is great. He really wants you to have a good stay. It is a small hotel, in the niddle of the centre. Parking is not so much of a problem. The hotel is situated right on the street. We first stayed in the room on streetlevel, but found it too noisy. Fortunately Marco could transfer us to a better room.
The rooms have all the necessary facilities and are spotless clean. The furniture is basic and the bathroom was rather small.
Every morning there is a breakfast buffet, there is quite some choice, with a cappucino if you want. Do not expect any warm dishes, like fried eggs.

Our week-long stay at Hotel I Graniti was an absolute pleasure, and we have owner Marco and manager Valentina to thank for this. This is a small hotel, and Marco takes great pride and pleasure in running it, and he also goes to great lengths to ensure that his guests are comfortable, happy and have everything they need. He is always around in reception (in an unobtrusive manner, he certainly doesn't intrude on people's space) if you want to ask what beach he recommends, or restaurant etc, and he helped us out on a number of occasions with good suggestions (he even helped us pay off a parking fine that we inadvertently got, and helped us avoid being stung for too much, which we certainly couldn't have done on our own!).

Our room was No 3 on the ground floor, next to reception. We were initially worried that being so close to the road would be a problem, but it really wasn't and we barely heard the traffic going by (it is a quiet road anyway). The breakfast terrace is also outside the window, but again we were not interrupted by any noise and were able to enjoy long lie-ins without being aware of people eating outside.

Breakfast was very good. A choice of homemade cakes baked by Marco's mother (Marco even packed us off with a selection of cakes and pastries on the day we checked out, and he also rang his mother to ask her to make a cake I'd particularly enjoyed on our last day, which we really appreciated), pastries, fruit, yoghurts, etc etc.

Villasimius is a lovely town, with great restaurants (La Lanterna was our favourite, a 10 minute walk from the hotel) and many, many beaches to choose from (our favourite was at Notteri, a 10 minute drive from the hotel).

A car is a must when staying in Villasimus (the hotel has a car park) if you are to see all the beaches the area has to offer.

I would recommend Hotel I Graniti to anybody. We travelled as a couple, but also saw families withy lung children, and elderly couples here, and everybody seemed to be very happy. It should also be noted that this hotel is kept scrupulously clean - every single day, our room and all other areas of the hotel were in pristine, immaculate condition. Sadly, this isn't a given in many other hotels I've visited.

What really makes this hotel so successful is the fantastic service from the staff, which is second to none. I hope we have the chance to visit again, and for longer. A week flew by.

Amazing small 3* hotel in the center of Villasimius, very helpful hotel staff, specially owner who organized Sardinia style dinner for hotel guests with some really good food. Gave best recommendations for the beaches and restaurants. Top choice! We had a classic room, but with a small balcony...rooms are clean, new, traditionally furnished, but really gives you Sardinian feel.
Only hotel walls are a bit thin, so you might hear what your neighbors are doing :)

I'm happy to give this hotel five stars just based on Marco's boundless enthusiasm; willing to impart knowledge and information on all things Villasimius whether it be beaches, restaurants or wine.
The hotel is perfectly situated a stone's throw from Villasimius' main square. The hubbub was in full swing when we wandered back on Saturday night/Sunday morning but as soon as we reached the hotel the noise was completely blanked out. It is positioned at the bottom of a steep road from which there is some traffic noise. I am someone who normally wakes up at the sound of a pin dropping but I slept soundly all night every night.
The room was spacious and cleaned to perfection every day. The air conditioning unit was whisper quiet. (I've stayed in hotels where the air-con will keep you awake at night) The deluge shower head was especially invigorating after a crusty day on the beach :-)
For a small hotel the breakfast selection was really good. Marco's Mum's cakes are to die for and the the coffee is superb.
The only issue I had with this hotel is that we only booked one week and not two.

The hotel is perched on a little hill that overlooks lower Villasimius. Marco, the b&b owner, made my friend and I feel at home with his friendly personality and willingness to help us with directions/recommendations around town. The breakfasts were great - there is a wide selection of meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, pastries, juices, and even some cakes that are homemade by Marco's mother. The free wifi didn't work quite as well in our room, but we had excellent reception down at the lobby. The only tiny complaint we had would be the noise. Although the hotel is situated on a hill, many cars pass through this road and sometimes it got pretty loud. We had a room on the second floor (up a small flight of stairs) that directly faced the street/parking area so it was often very noisy. It seems that most of the rooms are facing the street though, so it may be best to ask for a more quiet room. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room/one that is connected to the lobby

This hotel was perfect. Our room was quiet, the breakfast was great every morning. The highlight of this property was the staff......so friendly and welcoming. Marco, the owner, made us feel at home. All of his suggestions were perfect. His mother bakes one of the breakfast pastries each morning. The location is great to walk to many of the nice restaurants and gelatarias in Villasimius. I would highly recommend the Hotel I Graniti!
