Aequa is a very charming hotel, the staff are so nice and the location is excellent. There are so many wonderful places to see on the Sorrento peninsula and Vico, which is lovely, is ideally located. I know we will stay there again, soon.

Room Tip: Some rooms are more modern than others, but all kept very clean.

I have just returned from a stay at this hotel. I found it very elegant, my room was lovely and I made good use of the balconly looking out over the gardens, pool and the bay of Naples. The furniture in the room was really nice. The breakfast was soo good, the choice of lovely breads and very tasty salami, the fresh seasonal fruit was also very tasty, there was plenty of choice, the coffee was very good, I took mine out to the lovely terrace, covered with wisteria, overlooking the bay and the rest of Naples. The swimming pool was very friendly and clean, plenty of sunbeds. The hotel is convenient for the shops and restuarants and near everything, though inside the hotel is quiet and relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definatly be looking froward to staying there again, hopefully in a few weeks time.

Room Tip: Just tell the hotel what you are looking for.

Stayed here as part of a package. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Excellent location in the centre of town. The staff (especially on reception) were friendly and helpful. Lovely view from the terraces and gardens across the bay. What let the hotel down was the food. The breakfasts were dire; stale bread, meagre choice and generally unimaginative. Why not buy in some wonderful freshly baked italian breads? Evening set meal was boring and the service very slow. I ate out every night after the first night despite having paid for the evening meals.

I know Vico Equense very well as I go every year. Passing by this lovely hotel year after year, this time we decided to stay at Aequa Hotel. It was 5 min to the train and the bus leaves you in front. The view is breathtaking! The staff was extremely helpful for all our needs. The breakfast was very good as well. We requested a view, so ours was the view in the picture posted! The pool was wonderful, as they are difficult to come by in that area. The location is perfect. 7 min by train to Sorrento. Thank you to the staff at Aequa Hotel for making the last days, and nights in Italy a wonderful relaxing experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a view.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

Stayed here in June 2012 on a package with Page and Moy. The Aequa is well placed for the staton and town centre. The tour and guide, Simon, was very good. The hotel has a nice pool, and a large terrace with a beautiful view. The hotel though did leave something to be desired in the food area, but I think some of this was the fault of Page and Moy. Us P&M travellers had our own evening menu, and this was a bit lacking, certainly in veg. But the staff seemed to be happy to cook an alternative if you didn't like the main dish on offer. The breakfast was fine and there was something to suit everyone. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the rooms were kept clean. The towels were nice and fluffy, which was a pleasant surprise. No tea making facilties , so I took my own kettle. The hairdryers provided were just hoses, and almost useless. Again, take your own.
Our own room, though at the front, with the road view, was fine. But, a couple of single travellers on our tour had rooms that were substandard. They were small, with no balcony. In one the aircon did not work, and the furniture was junk, including a dirty padded headboard that you would not want near you.One had no fridge. This is not what you pay P&M prices for. I think they should not allow their clients to be put in these rooms.
But on the whole the hotel was fine, and the tour was greatly enjoyable.

Room Tip: If you are a single traveller, make sure you are not in the "broom closet",as not all were...

2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012 via mobile

We had planned to stay here for three nights on a self planned trip to the Sorrento and Amalficoast in june 2012, but only stayed for one because our room was terrible. We had a window, but it was coved with foil so we had no view outside. The furniture was old and almost falling apart, with loose parts hanging here and there. The shower was horrible and not clean at all, with acordion type doors from the 70'ties. I've had better showers in the bush, than this one. The room was small, and very dark at night, due to almost no lamps. The hotel elevator and the corridors screams for more light and a coat of paint. The garden with the view over the Napels bay is beautifull and has a great atmosphere. The pool aerea is really nice, clean and spacious, and have ok sunbeds (with 80's fake leather cover) but the pool is closed two and a half hours in the middle of the day for no apperent reason. The hotell itself looks like a Romanian appartment building in the middle of the cold war, and also the apperance from the street is worn-down. The staff was friendly and helpful, but all in all is this a hotell that reeks of former glory and is not worth a stay.

Stayed 5 nights on a self planned trip 10 days ago. The hotel staff were very helpful both in preplanning and booking as well as during our stay. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble to ensure we enjoyed and made the best of our first time stay in the area. Our room was very comfortable and well provisioned with a lovely view across Naples Bay (see photos on their website), We found it be an excellent location for seeing the main archeologcal sites using the local railway for travel (Circumvesuviana train was a couple of minutes walk away). A tip if you are arriving by plane at Naples airport is to catch the 'Sorrento' bus that can be found outside 'Arrivals'. This bus will drop you right by the hotel entrance (ask the hotel staff for information - email address on their website). We would certainly use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a bay view and balcony
