“excellent hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

Last week we spent there 3 nights. The hotel has a brilliant view on the sea, the service is more than excellent, the food is simply perfect and the staff is so kind! The place, the hotel, the people in the hotel is so unique which we have never met yet. Very much recommend to stay there to experience it!

Great Hotel! I went to Aequa Hotel in April 2012 for a conference and stayed their for sleep. The hotel had an excellent price, very good food, excellent service. It is very well located and the view over the Bay of Naples is incredible. It was my second time that I stayed in this hotel and would recommend it! The conference took place in this hotel and everything when always in the best way possible. Food was in excess and there was always professionalism and cordiality from the waiters. A stay there is not recommended, it is obligatory!

Look, if you want cheap and cheerful and a good laugh, this is the place. A total time warp to every era in the 20th century! Dodgy plumbing, wifi only in the hall (watch people wandering aimlessly trying to get reception) and interior decor circa 1980.

The beds are ancient, the showers are even older, but the views are magnificent. So is the service. These guys really do like you and are efficient, caring and delightfully polite. The grounds are also beautiful.

The town, Vico Equense, is terrific and well serviced by the local train line, the Circumvesiuvia. Just don't expect the trains to come on time, they come when ready. But doesn't really matter, you get there. Go to Sorrento, drive the Amalfi coast, go to Pompei and Herculaneum. Good spot in the middle, with top restaurants and some shopping.

If you want, dine in the restaurant. The food is cheap, nice and fresh. But lacking in vegetables...we went and bought fruit in the town. Lemons and oranges are grown to excess here. Try the local liquor - Limoncello. Will knock your head off!

Again, this place is for those who don't mind roughing it for a bit. But I would still say go for it, if just for the experience.

We stayed in the Hotel Aequa for a conference and the short vacation.
The staff are outstanding, for their discrete attention and professionalism. The food is excellent, and the Hotel itself is worth a visit for its furnishing. Highly recommended as a base for Naples, Sorrento and the Vesuvius region

The Aequa Hotel in Vico Equense was an ideal hotel for our university study abroad program. The view from the hotel is fantastic, the little town is charming and the hotel staff was extremely helpful and very kind to all of the students, even when they were hanging out using up the wi-fi on the ground floor. Also, if you have the train pass to get to Naples, Sorrento, Pompeii and Herculaneum, the train stop is a two-minutes walk. Other than considering eating out a few nights in Vico Equense-- there is an excellent pizzeria in town-- rather than at the hotel, I fully recommend making this hotel your base of travels in southern Italy.

This is a good hotel with a garage. We had a 2 room suite with a nice veranda. had the weather been warmer it would have been great. This is an excellent location to tour the amalfi and sorrento coast. Hotel ataff are helpful and friendly. Off-season there are not too many restaurants since many close for the winter. Pizza al metro is a great dining experience not to be missed.

Breakfast is adequate and they had whole fruit which was nice as well as the usual cold meats, cheese, breads and pasteries.

Excellent views (from terrace and at least half the rooms) and very cheerful, polite, friendly staff. Decor a little tired and the stair carpet, in particular, in need of replacement before it becomes a serious trip hazard! We stayed half-board as part of a Page&Moy package. Breakfast buffet was OK but with the exception of two special celebration dinners the evening meals were generally dull, with little choice and too much stodge. On that basis, would recommend on a B&B basis rather than half-board. There are a number of restaurants close by. Talking to other guests it would seem that rooms vary quite a lot in size etc and that some are prone to noise. Ours was OK but sounds of voices in corridors and doors banging could be distracting until the place had settled down for the night. Little of note in the town itself but a good base for exploring. To be honest, expected rather more from Page&Moy package hotel.

Room Tip: People with rooms overlooking the street complained about noise.
