We stayed at Hotel Tirrenia for 3 nights. The hotel is really nicely decorated, has great and friendly staff always happy to give you tips on dining and transportation, the breakfasts were very tasty with lot of choice and superb coffee. The room was clean and spacious enough, beds were comfortable. Only drawback was rather small bathroom. Actually you do not feel like in a hotel as the atmosphere is very hospitable. We parked the car on the street in front of the hotel.
Location is also very good: you like sunbathing - the beach is just few steps away, you like good food - there are many recommended places within walking distance, you'd like to use Viareggio as a starting point for some trips - Cinque Terre, Pisa and Lucca are waiting for you, all accessible on one day trips.
Generally, we cannot say a bad word about Hotel Tirrenia. It is a place which you will leave with good memories.

Very nice hotel in Viareggio. Great location. Near to the beach. Payed 10 euro for two persons at the beach. Avoid room no: 422 if you are more than 1 meter.

Well, it is almost like going to visit your aunt and uncle. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, it is just a pleasure to be there. Always greeting you with a smile, they were most helpful in suggesting places to eat and nearby activities to enjoy. Even if their English wasn't perfect, their sincere desire to please came shining through.

For the price, you can't beat it. It isn't high luxury, but it is spotless, convenient, friendly,
and their breakfast which is included with the room is excellent. They even send you to the beach with a prepacked beach back and towels. And the beach is gorgeous! Wide with beautiful mountain views in the distance. Great value, a definite winner for your visit to Viareggio! Also, it is a twelve minute walk down their street to the train station, just in case you want to visit Lucca for the evening.

Great hotel - first class service. Breakfast was excellent. Everything said in the reviews are all true.
