“Pleasant way to visit the towns of Cinque Terre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We enjoyed getting a day pass, I wish it would have run later in the day, we could not get to Riomaggiore and The town further south of it. We stated at Manorola and went north and came back to Manorola. Great views of all the villages. Pleasant ride in the sunshine .not overly expensive.

“In a word-- chaotic.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

The Consorzio Marritimo Turistico 5 Terre Golfo dei Poeti is the tourist boat operation which moves people along the Cinque Terra. For 28 Euro per person you can catch a boat between the villages of the Cinque Terra. Sounds easy. In practice they have many boats arriving and departing from each village and no system to identify which boat is which and going where. If you risk asking a staff member you will receive a surly reply in rapid Italian, a shrug of the shoulders and their back as they walk away. This happened 4 times in one afternoon, simply asking if "this was the correct boat for "La Spezia". They even announced a 20 minute stop at one village only to depart after 10, leaving angry tourists on the wharf. ( fortunately we weren't among them).
This sort of operation could be so much better organised. The people on Lake Como do it really well. If you chose to travel the Cinque Terra by boat, and it is a great way, pay close attention to the printed schedule, find someone who knows and ask the boat name for your correct trip, or you will soon find yourself going the wrong way.

“Boat (Ferry) Ride Le Cinque Terre, Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

This is one of the ways to visit all 5 towns during one day, other than by a local train. This is fast but can be "choppy" depending on the water conditions. It is convenient and reasonably inexpensive. Highly recommend it!
