Burlamacco Gold is a well run guest-house in the centre of viareggio. The only problem we had with the hotel was finding it to start with, as it is tucked way with no obvious road names to guide us. Despite this, personally I believe Burlamacco gold is in a prime location- close to the beach (400 metres), close to the train station (400 metres the other way) about 10 metres from the market on market day (well worth a visit and on a Thursday.) The guest-house is well run and they speak many languages which is useful! The staff were very friendly, offering us advice on restaurants and the beach. Our room was basic and warm, more than adequate for our stay. Our room were cleaned extremely well. The breakfast included in the deal was 20 metres away, and you get tea/coffee + 1 pastry item each. we found them so nice we bought extra :) The holiday and guest-house was very good value for money, I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to visit italia. This is a small B & B, the rooms are basically furnished but spotlessly clean with an amazingly comfortable bed. Veronica and Paolo, the owners/managers could not have been more helpful and though not on site all day they are available by phone. I want to keep this place a secret but that doesn't seem fair so in that spirit I cannot recommend it highly enough.
