On the way back from the trip to the islands on Laggo Maggiore (Isole Borromee) we realized that it is dinner time and would be better to eat in Italy than after the Swiss border. So we asked the GPS and "La Gallina.." sounded funny and convincing enough to give it a try.
Our expectations for a nice trattoria with a good food have been met completely.
Our group ordered a local antipasto misto, then risotto with zucchine and smoked goose, gnocchi with cheese, parmigiana di melanzane (eggplant with cheese) and finally a tagiliata di manzo (the beef was served on a hot stone). To drink - a liter of local, slightly sparkling red wine. The waitresses were helpful and cheerful. And the bill was very reasonable.
Overall - a nice, really italian experience, especially if you arrive from the side of Ticino.
