“Taste Umbrian wines, enjoy a meal and a view at the same time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Wanted to taste the wines of Umbria, and settled on Enoteca Oberdan based upon recommendations from locals. We tried Orvieto whites and several reds, and wrapped up with a nice grappa. Yes, a 3 hour lunch! We sat outside on the terrace, and I ordered the Speck d'oca (salad with a smoked duck speck) and the pasta with asparagus that other reviewers have noted. Our server was David (very nice guy, helped with the wines). Afterward we went inside and bought some wines from the owner/manager, and she helped with the prices given we'd eaten there too. What would I have loved that I didn't get? Maybe a tapas style menu so that you could try a broader variety different flavors with the wines.

“Good food, great view, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

The terrace of Oberdan probably has the most amazing view I've ever had in a restaurant - you're overlooking a magnificent valley. They have excellent expensive wines and rather good cheap ones, and the food, though not exceptional for Italy, is pretty good. We had a.o. a pasta with asparagus pesto, and beef carpaccio.
This small place has only a couple of tables (you really need to make a reservation), and since the owner basically does all the cooking, you'll have to wait in between courses. If you're a large group, don't count on all the primi and secondi arriving at the same time.
The service is very friendly, the waiters really make you feel at home.

“Good food, great selection of wine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

The Enoteco Oberdan is a small enoteca in the centre of Todi. Since it's an enoteca, the focus is on wine, and they have a great selection. You can also eat very well here. The food is very good, though not spectacular. You get good advice on the wine, and that might be the main reason to visit. It's a small place, so you might want to reserve in advance. It has a real cosy atmosphere, and I had a very pleasant time here. Service is also very friendly. I found the prices to be a bit on the high side, compared to other restaurants in Todi, but still it's not expensive. When you succeed to get a room at the window in the back, you have a stunning view. If not, walk to the park (on which the restaurant is located) and enjoy the stunning view of the Umbrian landscape.
Would I recommend it? Yes, without a doubt!

“Terrific little Enoteca.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

Our first experience for lunch was so wonderful we have returned several times, only for lunch however it is open for dinner which is high on our list. A small Enoteca, about 6-7 tables where the owner does almost everything from going to the morning market which will decide the menu for the day, to cooking, serving and all in between. Do not go here if your in a hurry, and you wouldn't want too as the leisurely pace just adds to this experience. The food here is wonderful, very fresh, clean tastes. On our first visit we had fried zucchini flowers stuffed with fresh mozzarella and anchovies as our starter - it was so incredible we asked at the end if they would be served in 2 days when we would return. It could be be if they were in the market, we went back anyway and she had them just for us - terrific! Also the wine selection here is wonderful and she is very knowledgeable on this so don't be afraid to ask for suggestions. In the summer she sets up tables outside and the view is amazing.

“Great Very Long, Leisurely Lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

We had a fantastic lunch in Todi with beautiful views! You will feel as if a family member is cooking for you. The service was on the slower side because the owner does everything: serves, cooks, cleans etc. however, the fantastic food and views allowed for a very long, leisurely lunch that was both memorable and noteworthy. Everything is cooked/made to order. The Osso Bucco was the best we ever tasted and the pasta was delicious. Just be prepared to sit and wait and wait and drink for a very, VERY long time and enjoy being in the moment!
