“Deceptively nice !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2007

This hotel although shabby looing from the outside in fact it looks more like a Russian apartment building is lovely inside. We stayed for just three nights but found it charming. Great location a 5 minute stroll from the town centre but very peacefull. Good points: friendly staff on reception, nice room, nice pool, nice gardens. Not so good - slow service in the bar, uncomfortable sun loungers, expensive and limited lunch menu (although what we tried was delicious). Our balcony was small.

Been there 3 years in a row. The first two years were good but this year it was like they were tired of the touroperator clientèle.
They started exepting touroperators 3 years ago.
The hotel have had the same clientèle for over decades and can't cope well with the new change of an international mix of people.
On the beach it's a real desaster because the two men in charge play some sort of a control game and put all the people who came with touroperators packed together in the back two rows (not evident if you have children and who are in the water all day). The two rows in the front are all occupied with exclusive italian people of whom some don't even stay in the hotel. It's a game of favors. The germans, holland, belgium and russian people are sitting on top of each other while the middle of the beach is free and sofore creates a big gap between the two. If you ask them they respond very nicely that every chair is reserved. Never saw anybody occupie the empty chairs in the middle and i was there for 10 days. The system reminds me of the gettho's in World War II !!!!
In the restaurant there is not enough food. The salad buffet consist of 6 platters and doesn't get filled up. So if you come a half an hour later you've got bad luck because it's empty. Same story with the dessert buffet. 1 big tiramisu for ex. for 600 people.
Breakfast is even worse, dried out bread and jam. The eggs nnever get filled up : too bad if you don't come at 7 o' clock in the morning.
The rooms are very big and very clean but the bathroom is old and water is lukewarm and de taps are old and it takes 15 min to run a full bath.

It's a good thing that the people (with exeptance of the two beachboys) who work there are very nice and always kind and willing to help.
i really do not recommend this hotel to foreignors if youre italian then you have no problem.

Nice quiet hotel in woods. Nice pool and has its own beach (15 Euros a day for two chairs and umbrella). Beach is excellent and worth paying for.
Rooms are big with balcony. Very adequate. Staff friendly and speak English.
I wouldn't recommend eating here - very limited menu and poor quality. Try somewhere near the beach instead. Very happy with this hotel and would stay here again. About 30 mins to Pisa by car.

A nice hotel, in the middle of an old wooden park, just at walk distance from the two golf club in the city.

The hotel outside seems a classic city house, white and modern. I've booked a superior room: very spacious, with a big king size bed and a huge bathroom with.. window!!! Old style wooden bed, wooden closet, a very small tv (14 inch) but with satellite programs. The walls, in some sides, where dirty and full of humidity. They did not repainted them probably after a water-problem.

Protection against mosquitos at every windows, and a "Baygon" electric device against them show you that in some season this is something to consider! Reception helped me with a map of the city and some other request I had. For about 100$ (special internet rate - the standard was 130$), I expected something more: it seems an "old age" hotel, but it needs to be renewed!
