The Cosmopolitan Resort features 42 apartments, with two or three rooms, all of which with balcony (upper floor) or patio and garden (ground floor).
All units are equipped with kitchenette, air conditioning/heating (climate control), satellite TV (few foreign programs) and WIFI (couldn't check on that for lack of laptop computer).
Facilities include a golf course (18 holes), driving range, practice areas, swimming pool, bike rental, laundry, private parking, bar & restaurant, private beach with shuttle service during summer months.
My wife and I went to Tuscany to do the old cultural routine (Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Volterra), so we did not use most of the facilities (except for the swimming pool and the private parking). The restaurant seemed a bit overpriced but as we had a fully equipped kitchenette at our disposal this was not a problem at all. There's a reasonably priced supermarket (coop) just down the road.
Tirrenia itself is nothing to write home about. However, the public beach is quite nice- and only a ten minute walk from the resort.
Regional bus services (CPT) connect downtown Tirrenia and Pisa / Livorno respectively. Public transport (buses and trains) is cheap and efficient, and probably your best bet when going to Pisa (EUR 2.05 one way), Lucca (EUR 4.20 one way from/to Pisa) or Florence (forgot the price but real cheap anyway). We only once actually needed our car- and that was for our trip to Volterra.
The apartments are clean and relatively modern. It's nice to sit out on the patio and survey the pool scene while enjoying breakfast or dinner.
Staff were friendly and efficient. At about EUR 300 for ten days, I consider the Cosmopolitan a real bargain.
