“Nice hotel but poorly maintained.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

Bijou is right in the middle of (tiny) St Vincent. There is no hotel parking, you can either park for free a 100-150 yards away, or pay for parking (5 euros a day ?) nearby.

The room was nice and big (I think I got a double room instead of a single), parquet floors, nice bathroom with a tub. Amazing view from the window. Wardrobe was OK, there was a minibar and a safe as well.

Wifi is supposedly free for 2 hours and then paid - my login details did not expire (thankfully). Connection was a little bit erratic, clocked 6mbps when working.

The hotel seems to be family run, and all the people behind the reception desk were all pleasant and helpful.

Breakfast was OK - continental plus - coffee and tea (no self service, drinks have to requested) - rolls, a few pastries and cakes, cheeses, jams, and a couple of fruits and yogurts and a couple of cereals. More or less what you'd expect from a small-medium hotel.

Maintenance is where this hotel falls down - were it not for this, Bijou would deserve 4 or 5 stars. It seems that room maintenance is just not there: my TV remote worked partially and the room safe was locked when I arrived (I did not bring up either of those during my stay as they were minor annoyances).
One afternoon I had no hot water - I was told that the boiler had not started up correctly - and later on that it would need repairs. Thankfully, this happened the same day. Another day, the a/c stopped working (these were HOT days) - I was simply told that it could not be fixed.

Great hotel, nice rooms, good location, MAINTENANCE NEEDS ATTENTION.

Great room with a view of the piazza Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto. Breakfast was excellent and the staff helpful (with a little understanding of Italian you'll manage). We loved the authentic Italian atmosphere.

This hotel is located in the center of Saint Vincent. The personal is friendly and very helpful. My room was very nice and perfectly clean. Large window on the square. A restful and quiet night. The breakfast buffet might look small, however, the bread, italian croissants, cheeses... were much better than average. Excellent value for money.

Very nice family hotel with excellent location next to main plaza in Saint-Vincent. You can walk everywhere. Room are very spacious, comfortable and clean. Equipped with all necessary amenities. There is a beautiful views from the windows. Parking is located really not far away. Very good breakfast with reasonable choice. Good base for skiing in nearby Cervinia.

Room Tip: Good for skiing in Cervinia

I recommend Bijou hotel without a second thought! It' s a very nice hotel, with spacious rooms and a very tasty breakfast! The coffee that was served was great! Above all, Matteo, the owner of the hotel, is really helpful and have helped us to solve a problem that we had with booking.com. The only disadvantage is that the free parking area is a bit far, so you had to walk about 5 minutes.

We do agree, rooms are quite big and the hotel is nicely located. However, we had the bad luck to have booked half-pension (breakfasts and dinners included).
Dinners were a pure catastrophy, nothing fresh, only canned or frozen food! Soooo far from the myth of the Italian food! They even managed to spoil the pasta, really weird!
Warm dish for example: defrosted and half fried hamburger+potato purée (from powder).
Disastrous!!!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2009

The whole Aosta valley is an overlooked gem, with wineries, hiking, castles, and friendly, laid-back residents. We loved our visit there and will certainly come back. When we do, I would certainly consider staying at the Bijou again. It's located on the pedestrian-only central square of Saint-Vincent. Our sixth floor room overlooked the square, and with the windows thrown open we enjoyed the sounds of music, laughter, and the general bustle of daily life in this charming Alpine town.

Our room was reasonably spacious (by European standards), comfortably furnished, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.
