“A wonderful place to dream of the whole year through”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

Sommer holidays as we all dream of: A beautiful view over the Baia del Silezio, a lovley littel town with small restaurants, gelaterias, candyshops and a fantastic shoeshop (a friendly, elegant man customizes all kinds of sandals just next to the hotel)...
Lying on the beach, someone with a winning voice sells coconuts, but you will never be hungry: The lunch at the hotel was simply too good to resist and the great aperitivo at the Citto Beach Bar over the Baia is waiting together with a wonderful dinner at the Miramare - feet in the sand, directly at the water.
The hotel itself has nice, modern rooms, some of them have huge own terraces. The staff is exceptionally friendly.
My parents stay at the hotel every year and I will definitively come back, too.

Trying to get away from the heat of Milano, I ended up very last minute in this hotel through a last minute deal on Booking.com, taking the junior suite with all its extra offerings.
It was well situated in the middle of the busy little town, at first a bit hard to get too, because you need to go through some pedestrians only streets, but once there, there is a welcoming valet to take your car to put it into their garage, free of charge for the junior suite.
The welcoming at the reception js very friendly and professional. These people know what a 4 star hotel needs in terms of service. The room was of course very spacious, a seperate bedroom with a window that gives out on the sea, and 2 bathrooms, one with a shower, one with a bath, strangely the one with the bath had the more masculin soaps and amenities, while the one with the shower had the more feminin ones. But maybe I am being prejudice here.
The suite came with its offerings like free umbrella and seats in the quite crowded private beach of the hotel, which js nice, as you don't need to get up early in the morning to reserve some seating.
The restaurant has a high standing, but pricy, we didn't eat there, preferring to go into town, but the tables on the beach terrace at night sure looked inviting for a romantic evening.
In terms of service, a nice quote : when we extended our stay with one extra day, of course we didn't have the nice deal anymore, but the hotel was so nice to let us keep the room for one more night at the price of a normal one. An effort I really appreciated.

We stayed here in July... my family and another family. We had four adults and a total of five children... a boy aged 12 and four girls aged 14 to 16. We arrived in Sestri Levante after already visiting Rome and Venice. Rome and Venice were great, but at this stage of the trip we really needed the relaxing environment that this town and location provided... it was amazing. Sestri Levante is a great town, but the Bay of Silence is absolutely the only place you would want to stay here. It is adjacent to the great little winding streets of the towns with all the restaurants, shops, etc.... but it also a feeling of being isolated by opening out to the private little beach. It is incredibly picturesque and absolutely unforgetable. Also, while Rome and Venice were crowded with other Americans, Sestri Levante was mostly vacationing Italians with a lesser mix of British and other Europeans. It felt like a somewhat more authentic Italian vacation spot than did the larger cities.

The hotel is very clean, right on the beach, and the rooms and public areas are newly renovated, upscale, very well put together, and extraordinarily comfortable. The service was fantastic and friendly. The breakfast in the mornings was the best we had in Italy. Try the custard filled pastries and sit on the edge of the restaurant facing out to the beach where you may never find a better view.

One important thing to know about Sestri Levante is that when you stay here, call Silent Bay Charters and have Simone take you out on his sailboat. It was some of the best money we spent on the entire trip. Also, there is a Gelatto place that made their own Gelatto in the back and sold flavors we never saw elsewhere. The fig and ricotta Gelatto won't soon be forgotten. I wish I could remember the name, but it was right on the main walking road behind the hotel, less than a quarter of a mile walk.

Finally, Thursday nights is a big live music night in Sestri Levante. Go grab pizza, sit outside and watch the musicians play. They are all over town.

Room Tip: Our room did not face the Bay. I assume you could pay more for one that does, but we spent very lit...

We stayed at hotel Miramare for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The village is perfect for a short escape. Running in the morning on the boulevard. Some good restaurants in town and the beachside location with private beach made it excellent. Places are reserved every day and possibility to have lunch at the beach. Breakfast was good everything you need and the view is breath taking. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was fine, good shower and beds. We didn't try out the restaurant maybe next time...

I was really happy with this hotel and I am very particular about everything. The hotel was ckean, service was outstanding and it is in a perfect location in the town and right on the bay. I would not come to sestri and stay at a hotel that is not on the baia dr silenzia. As far as the downside: the room is small but I have found that to be true with most hotels in Europe. Definitely spend the extra money for a sea view room with a balcony!

One of the best hotel is Miramare in Sestri Levante. Service is outstanding and the rooms are perfectly cleaned. We got a new mattress as soon as we complained that the bed was too hard to sleep in Serviceminded staff and lifeguard. Minus is the price at the restaurant and at the bar.

We spent 5 nights in this delightful hotel and enjoyed the experience. We chose a superior sea view room and were not disappointed - it had all that one would have expected from a 4-star hotel, was clean, and well-serviced. One couldn't wish for a better view from a hotel room. The staff were most accommodating and pleasant. The hotel is very well situated close to many restaurants and shops. We felt that the breakfast was somewhat limited as was the menu on offer in the main dining room. There is no parking at the hotel and if your car is parked for you expect to pay an additional €20.00 a day.
