“Fantastic Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

This was our third stay in 15 years at the Mediterraneo. It has just got better and better. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The views from the restaurant are stunning. To be able to eat your breakfast looking over the Bay of Naples, with Capri and Mount Vesuvius in the distance is incredible. I really enjoyed the poolside barbecues. The food was excellent . The hotel is comfortable, modern, light and tastefully decorated. The new bar looks very smart. I enjoyed having a swim every morning. Thank you for a magical time.

Room Tip: The Sea view rooms are very good.

I have never bothered to take the time to write a review before, however my girlfriend and I had such a special 10 night stay at the Hotel Mediterraneo I had to make it my first.

The hotel is wonderful and the staff even more so. Even though it is situated slightly out of the main centre of Sorrento, the free hotel shuttle service is very handy and the 15 min walk is very straightforward and useful after a hearty bowl of pasta in the evening! There is a public bus stop right outside which takes you directly to the main Port and town centre for a very small fee, should the shuttle not be available.

We booked a sea view room with private balcony and the view was stunning! Enjoying the sunset every evening on this balcony was wonderful for my girlfriend and I.

The pool area is excellent, very clean and relaxing. The bar area alongside is very handy for a cold beer and some tasty lunch poolside!

Every single member of staff at the hotel was outstanding. Special mention has to go to the concierge Aniello (who was extremely welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful) as well as the barman who called himself "Nobody" (those Nobody puns such as "don't worry, Nobody cares about you" or "Nobody knows what you like to drink" will never get old"!

My only constructive criticism would be that the breakfast service is a little slow, in that tables are cleared slowly and could be improved. The quality of the food on offer is high, with a very good variation and selection.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Make sure you choose a sea view room with balcony, the view is outstanding and the sunsets are very...

This hotel is outstanding across all categories and caters well for families. This was our 2nd visit to this hotel, the 1st being 13 years ago before the kids, therefore our expectations were high. The hotel surpassed them by a country mile! The standards are high and you can tell the owners have invested significantly over the years to maintain the 4+ stars rating. The The entertainment laid on is excellent and varied, very romantic indeed. The food options across all times are extensive and the menus are changed daily. Great mixture of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes, oh and the sweets...yummy! The hotel restaurant has panaromic views of the Bay Of Naples and Vesuvius for you to enjoy whilst enjoying your dinner. Each romantic sunset is bettered by the next one, simply idyllic. Twice a week, weather dependant, they have a BBQ Grill and extensive buffet in the garden/pool area by candlelight with entertainment...nice and relaxing. During the day the Aqua Pool Lounge provides excellent lunches which are reasonably priced. The pool is large and welcoming. The best things about the pool are the gradient from shallow to deeper end is very gradual...good for kids, elderly and less confident swimmers. There is even a suitably placed ledge around the deeper parts of the pool to allow you to stand and take a breather or to simply get away from the busier shallow end. The hotel operates a beach towel card system where you can make use of freshly laundered beach towels. No need to pack heavy beach towels here! The hourly courtesy bus to and from Sorrento is a handy extra and I recommend it's use, especially for the kids. Although, it is only a 20 minute walk into Sorrento, the pavements along the route are narrow and can be tricky at times. Hop on the bus and save your feet! The staff and service are what generates the lasting memories of a great holiday and here you are well looked after. It is the simple things that count, like getting down to talk to the kids and asking them things, making them smile and having fun that they laugh for ages. My thanks to all the staff, front desk for the warm welcomes and receptions, even the housekeeping for maintaining the rooms so pristine, the waiters for making us feel like VIP guests every day. Particular mention to Aniello, Piña, Mr Nobody, Constanzo, Arturo, Antonio and Saverno. We witnessed numerous weddings in and around the vaccinity of the hotel, due to its location. For anyone considering getting married abroad, then look no further as here is the perfect venue! The roof top terrace and entertaining suite is mesmerising. Finally, I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, couples and families, as they make everyone feel special. I will certainly be back for more!

My wife and myself stayed here for two weeks in July 2014 and loved everything about this hotel, beautiful location, with a balcony view looking onto Vesuvius, the friendliness of staff made our 44 year wedding anniversary quite special, they also provided a birthday gift for me. The super star however was "Mr Nobody" the chap "Is a BREATH of fresh Air" he tended the bar area and entertained not only us, but all the guests with his continuous banter "NOBODY listens to you" etc, etc, he is a legend. My only gripe was the limited breakfast choices but that is Italy. No hesitation in recommending this hotel

Room Tip: Best option is the balcony sea view and Vesuvius. Although there are traffic noise issues as the hot...

The hotel was outstanding in an idyllic location. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food at the hotel was 1st class with plenty of variety. I was on holiday there with friends to celebrate a special birthday and the hotel made my stay extra special. I would recommend this hotel as I loved everything about it, the location ,the people and it was just what I needed to enjoy what turned out to be a very memorable holiday.

My husband and I chose to stay there for our honeymoon and we were very happy with it. Our room was a tad small, which didn't bother us that much but very clean and well maintained. We had dinner at the roof top restaurant that has gorgeous views on the bay of Naples and the Vesuvio, and the food was excellent! The standard delivered breakfast was ok considering the price and service was faultless.

The staff were great, and thanks to Nobody who remembered our orders every time! Pina was also very helpful with our tour bookings, and they had a large choice of tours available.

Overall we would definitely recommend it!
