Sadly, we were only to stay in this wonderful hotel for two nights, but hope to return someday. The facility was beautiful and, though situated on a somewhat busy corner, perched in a perfect locations for sweeping views of the sea. Lovely pool, staff ,and luncheon. Huge breakfast on 5th floor balcony. The best.

Room Tip: Whatever you can afford. Less expensive garden view may actually be quieter.

We spent a week here and loved every bit of it. Staff very helpful and accommodating, we asked for a corner room with ocean views and got it a couple days later with no problems....the views were well worth the move....the pool area is wonderful, never had to fight for a lounge chair, towels always available, bar staff great fun and very friendly. Ate at outside restaurant a couple of times...food was mostly fine, not used to having lots of mayo on sandwiches and our club sandwiches are usually toasted but it was all manageable.
The walk into town was around 20 mins, depending ow fast you walked, the shuttle bus was always on time which was great. The weather was hot so we used the shuttle more than we would normally.

Would stay here every time, an excellent hotel choice, also with a great little bar around the bak of it.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and looked after. The room was clean and although we didn't pay the extra for a sea view there were superb views from the terrace, restaurant and other public rooms in the hotel. The pool and facilities were first class and the staff were engaging and helpful. For a plush hotel the food, drinks etc were extremely good value for money and I can recommend the happy hour where excellent cocktails were reduced! The house wine, both red and white were very good value for money. The bartender at the poolside bar had a dry wit which was very amusing and welcoming. Do take advantage of the pool side buffet with music! The reception staff were helpful and there was a free shuttle bus to the town although you could walk if you are that way inclined.
The was a lift inside the hotel to the small artificial beach and decked area. The cost for sun loungers has 10 euros pp with an additional 4 euros for a brolly. We spent a day at the beach which was enough as the pool was lovely.
The town is worth a visit and on the recommendation of the staff we took a boat to Amalfi and a bus back which was an excellent day out.

Room Tip: In our opinion, it's not worth the extra money for a sea view as the hotel has so many other roo...

We stayed here for 7 nights after booking through Thompsons. I read many reviews on this Hotel before booking because i wasn't sure about the distance from the centre of Sorrento. but for us the location was perfect. An easy 20 min walk to Tasso Square and if you didn't fancy that the Hotel runs a courtesy Bus throughout the day to the centre and back. There was also a public bus stop outside the Hotel.
The Hotel was immaculate throughout from the reception area to the lovely breakfast/dining room on floor number 5. At the back of the Hotel was where the pool area was and a beautiful garden area with plenty of seating. There was also a large dining area with bar beside the pool where we would have our evening meal twice during the week we were there.
The room we stayed in was 215 which was on the second floor with a balcony looking over the Garden and Pool area. It wasn't the largest of rooms but more than met our needs but then again we only booked a standard room and we did have a balcony which not all rooms had. The room was cleaned to a very high standard every day, with bedding and towels changed frequently.
We booked Half Board and i have to say the food was excellent with plenty of choice for the buffet breakfast from continental style to cooked scrambled eggs and bacon etc. The evening dinner always had plenty of choice with 3 courses every night and also one night a special dinner of 4 courses.
All the staff from the reception to dining and bar at the pool were very friendly and helpful.with a special mention to Mr Nobody as he liked to be called at the pool bar.
What i did notice when speaking to other guests at the hotel was the number who continued to come back and stay again on more than one occasion. Which i think is all you need to know of the very High standard of the Hotel Mediterraneo..
.

Room Tip: Book room at front of hotel if you want a seview

We stayed at the Hotel Mediterraneo in April 2012 for one night. This is a lovely hotel, modern reception and bar area and clean nicely decorated rooms in a seaside theme.

As there was torrrentially terrible weather in sorrento during our stay, we decided to stay in the hotel for drinks and dinner, which turned out to be a lovely evening.
There is a wonderful restaurant (for dinner and breakfast) on the top floor of the hotel with amazing views (even in the bad weather), we had such a beautiful dinner (its fancy restaurant standard) that Sorrento was a highlight although we didn't see sun at all.

We used the complimentary shuttle bus which leaves periodically during the day to go down to the main area of Sorrento as the hotel is about 10 minutes from the main area.

We are currently staying at the Hotel Mediterraneo. I could not wait until we get home to give this hotel the praise it deserves so I am writing this now. We are staying here for 7 nights, we have 2 nights to go. We have a beautiful room on the corner (sea view room) on the second floor. The rooms are small but very adequate with beautiful views. The shower also is tiny but very clean. In fact the entire hotel is immaculate. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is a problem. We even needed a doctor for my husband as he had a chest infection. I called downstairs and within an hour or so, a very friendly english speaking doctor called at our room and prescribed antibiotics. All at a cost of only 50 euros. There is happy hour at the pool bar every night and an extremely friendly and funny bartender Daniele to serve our drinks and chat. There is also a beautiful bar area at the bottom called the 'White Bar' it overlooks the sea and we have seen some beautiful sunset evenings there. The decor is modern and stunning throughout the entire hotel. I could write so much more.... All positive.... We weren't sure when we arrived about staying out of town, but on the first day realized we had made the perfect choice and would definitely return and recommend to others. We travel many times a year and this is one of our most recommended hotels. Thank you Hotel Mediterraneo! We will be sad to leave.
