“disappointing food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

Whilst the hotel itself was clean, quiet and the reception staff were helpful and friendly the same unfortunately cannot be said for the night porter or the restaurant staff. The evening meals were inedible and a disgrace for both a 4* and an Italian hotel, where they managed to murder even an omlette. the waiting staff were surly, impatient and had little understanding of customer service. In complete contrast to local restaurants who couldn't do enough for us.
The rest of the hotel however was clean, quiet and comfortable just watch out for extra charges they will make including using the fridge!

If you are looking for a wonderful hotel do not stay here. This hotel leaves a lot to be desired and has only got a four star rating because in Italy they gave three stars if the hotel has a lift. Staying here for seven nights and ate out for three of them because the evening meals consisted of things like tinned mushrooms, boiled potatoes and inedible lamb chops. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms but if you are wanting a cup of coffee after 9 PM it is not possible to get one in the hotel as the night porter is not able to even make one. Do not think you will be able to sunbathe at the pool because it is too shaded by trees and although pool towels are advertised they charge you one euro for this. And my final mode is the fact that you are counted how many times you go to the buffet at breakfast. The Only plus side is that the rooms are clean so the maids obviously do a very good job.

Hotel Eliseo Parks is a very average hotel nothing amazing. Lovely reception area and great helpful staff but thats it really. Breakfast was not very much choice and not good quality. The pool was freezing cold and impossible to stay in which explains why that area is always deserted. The room was air-conditioned but the beds were hard and the bathroom was basic. Didn't have dinner at hotel because there was only a set menu. no Wi-Fi in rooms only in reception area which was very disappointing!!. Overall an average stay for 4 days (I wouldn't suggest you go any longer than 3-4 days)

stayed here for 5 nights, staff superb, friendly, knowledgeable and gave the impression of one big happy family.on the plus side its close to Sorrento,15-20 minute walk or take the bus but probably will take just as long as the traffic can be heavy and constant along the routeThe hotel itself is in a very quiet back street and a pleasant break from the scooters which abound everywhere. There is a train station a five to ten minute walk away and its one stop from Sorrento, and about a dozen from Pompeii. There a a couple of bars nearby and the terraza restaurant has tables overlooking the bay,and is less than five minute walk. The rooms overlooking the gardens are lovely and we woke to songbirds every day.The rooms are clean and comfortable but not very big.The shower is a hand held unit which i found difficult and cumbersome,it really would be an idea to install proper shower cubicles and take the baths away but this was only a minor problem.Avoid taxis if you can they cost around 20euro to the center of Sorrento whereas the bus and train are only a euro,be warned though, the return trains only run till 9.30 at night. The pool is nice and safe for older kids,i would recommend to older more mature people rather than young families.

Room Tip: ask for a garden room if you dont want the noise from the pool

First class hotel, easy 20 minutes walk to Sorrento centre.Owner kept an eye on every aspect of service. Food very good, staff friendly and efficient, quiet location and one or two shops nearby to buy bottled water etc.

Not quite a 4 star. The room was clean and well furnished (beds a bit hard) with the en-suite being a bit on the basic side. The shower had a curtain, which clung to you when showering. The shower gel and hair shampoo provided were in sachets. The balcony was a nice size, and ours overlooked the pool. The hotel itself was always spotless, except when I had to walk in from the pool to order a drink. The pool was cold, like many hotel pools in this area it isn't heated. The poolside bar was rarely open, which probably explained why no-one stayed around during the day. There was no evening entertainment for guests (not even piped music) so the place was virtually empty by 9:30pm.
The food was of good quality but there wasn't a choice for dessert. Dinner was ordered from a menu at breakfast, which we were told helps reduce waste. Breakfast was limited in choice.
The staff provided a good service and the couple of problems we had were dealt with very promptly.
It is a good 20/25 minute walk to the centre of Sorrento, along busy roads, some of which are dogs toilets.

Room Tip: Top floor (3rd) overlooking the pool, with a balcony. Don't go for a room without a balcony you...

I spent 8 days at the Eliseo Park's Hotel as part of a small specialist tour group. Frankly it did not match up to the build-up it had been given. It is neither by the sea/cliff edge nor in Sorrento or Sant Agnello so it meant a very long walk or an expensive taxi to get to a choice of restaurants and shops, or to a railway station.
Family service is friendly and helpful, with many of the younger staff speaking English. My (single) room was small but with a big bed and quite well equipped with safe and TV (France 24 being the only English language channel). Slippery floors in the bathrooms. Other shared twin-bedded rooms were bigger.
The small public area by the /bar is a truly remarkable example of Italian decorative excess, a bit of a hazard for visually impaired travellers or small chldren. The free wifi works there and on the tiny terrace immediately outside.
The hotel lies off a busy suburban road but is on an enclosed site and quiet with pretty gardens (but no views). The pool is small and in shade most of the day so the water (in May) was very cold.
Breakfast (cold buffet) is very good. Dinner is Italian family style and got very repetitive after a couple of days; we missed green vegetables and salads. We could have suffered from their working to a budget for our group. Choice for dinner had to be made at breakfast and diners then had to sit at the same table as at breakfast. There is no lunch time service, but there is a scruffy-looking little restaurant with good food on the corner (closed on Wednesdays) or a longer walk to an overpriced and mediocre cliff top tourist trap.
Anywhere in this area is good as a sightseeing base, and our welcome was warm and gracious, but there is nothing special about this hotel to recommend it above others.
