“Not what we expected!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

We booked this B&B based purely on the Trip Advisor reviews, without checking out the website. Please note: it is a BUDGET B&B. We thought we were booking a 3 star hotel. Either way, the poor hygiene & cleanliness certainly did not meet our expectations. The mould all around the shower cubicle was simply appalling. Stains on the bed linen. Threadbare grey towels that should have been white. Table clothes were stained leaving us to question whether they were changed in the dining room for the full week we stayed. The breakfast was very poor. We would have looked for alternative accommodation had we not paid £600 in full prior to our arrival, with a no refund policy following a last minute booking. Elina, on reception, was very helpful whenever we asked a question & the free wifi was great. The location is good if you want to walk into Sorrento - its about 20 - 25 mins. Would we stay there again? No.

Room Tip: Request an internal private bathroom, or you will end up padding up & down corridors to an exter...

I had to cancel my trip to a wedding in Sorrento due to family circumstances so have not stayed at this hotel, but Elina was most helpful with my problems and we came to an amicable solution. It looks lovely and will definately re-book to stay here in the near future. Thanks for efficient communication Elina!!!! Excellent English I must say.....Lynn

The staff are very friendly and speak excellent English. This is an old convent turned into hotel. Has a hospital look but good value. Beds are springy but clean. Close to the water and easy access to Sorrento.

The Porto Salvo in Sant' Agnello, Italy (just outside of Sorrento) is beyond amazing! Located on top of a cliff overlooking the water, this hotel is seated in one of the most beautiful areas I've ever seen! I will most definitely go back! Even better is the Italian family that owns and runs the hotel. I was staying at the Porto Salvo this past July 2012 when a major personal crisis developed in my life. Being from the U.S. and not speaking any Italian, this amazing hotel family took me in as one of their own and saw to it that I got everything I needed. They got me back to the U.S. safely and I will forever be grateful to them! If you don't stay here, you're missing out! Talk about going above and beyond with customer service! They were an absolute God-Send!

Room Tip: Talk to the head lady that owns and runs the hotel. She is fabulous!

Just came back from spending 8 nights at this B & B. Firstly, the location is great. Our room, with a private bathroom, had 3 windows, and a view of the Bay of Naples. You are just steps away from the great cliffs of Sant'Agnello/Sorrento and the ocean. Good restaurants in the neighborhood. Building has a lot of character, being an ex convent. The 2 ladies in charge are wonderful, and catered to any of our needs. You can walk to the main square in Sorrento in about 20 minutes, or take a 5 minute bus ride. Price of the room was very reasonable. If we go back to this region again, we would certainly consider staying here again.

The place is very nice to stay in. This is ex convent building from XVII century and you can really feel its spirit all over. Rooms are clean (convent cells:-), with air-conditioning and some of them have absolutely beautiful sea view. Most of the rooms seem to have shared bathroom (our did) but we didn’t find this to be a problem (I think they have also few rooms with private bathrooms as well). The location is perfect - on the top of the cliff and few minutes walk from Sorrento. We totally recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with a bathroom and the sea view. Also, consider choosing tea not a coffee for brea...

We just came back from spending a week in Sorrento. Porto Salve is just a lovely little place we choose and didn’t regret a second of it.
Great and beautiful location. Wonderful and hospitable stuff. Rooms are charming, spacious and clean. Fresh breakfast. You can’t ask for more for the price you pay.
Simply: the place is authentic, very good and reasonably priced, the atmosphere is "homey," and the stuff is charming. Lovely garden in front and amazing view from the room just add more to it.
I would recommend anyone to stay at this place I would not hesitate to come back again!
P.S. Thank you Elina for all your help!
