“warm welcome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

we arrived after a long drive from the other side of Italy, to a warm welcome from a family run hotel. We shared a few vino's on the terrace with complimentary snacks, nice way to finish the drive. Nice rooms with amazing views, great breakfast and walking distance from the centre of Sorrento. We were there at the end of the season and staff still treated us like we were the first of the season. We will be back.

Stayed for one week. My family had two adjoining rooms which felt recently decorated and fresh.
The hotel has double height ceilings which give the rooms and the hotel itself a sense of spaciousness.
I liked:
- the staff, always someone one reception to help with ferry, train and bus times. They also made sure we knew that the Pompeii site staff were holding a one day strike which saved us a wasted trip.
- The location, plently of stuff within a few mins. It's a bit of a walk to central Sorrento, about 20 mins.
Would I go back to this hotel. Yes.

Loved all the accommodations. The view was magnifico. able to walk to tràins, stores, restaurants. Travelled with a dozen people. The staff was great, rooms clean and serviced. Pino was the best. He is my new brother!

A typical example of a totally unreliable rating: definitely not a four-star hotel, barely a three-star one, although the staff was very kind and available, and the vista remains remarkable. The room furnishing was unacceptably old-fashioned and tarnished (the most incredibly old-looking bath faucets I've ever seen in a hotel room in my whole life), but definitely without any possible old-style charm attached. The breakfast in front of the sea was the only reward for an otherwise rather disappointing stay, despite the kindeness of the staff. Given the overabundance of all sorts of accomodations in Sorrento, there is no reason one should choose it unless at a most convenient (last minute?) bargain price.

To do that we need to know, if you remember, which room you choice, we have changed all our bathrooms in the last 2 yaers, and concerning the price we have the same room rates from 2009. In any case, we always try to give all our best to make the stay of our Guests unforgettable.

Overnight flight from US to Rome followed by a leisurely drive from the airport to Sant' Agnello was the start to another wonderful stay in Italy. The hotel was easy to find if you paid close attention to the street signs. You are given a parking pass to display in the car window so that you can park on the street adjacent to the hotel. We booked a junior suite facing the sea. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is served on the lower level looking out over the bay of naples. A comprehensive selection of cold items is offered along with a choice of prepared egg dishes. We usually just eat breakfast and skip lunch. The hotel is easy walking distance to Sorrento (about 25 minutes depending on your pace.) There is supposed to be regular bus service but the staff informed us that it is not very reliable. There is a large car park near the center of Sorrento that we used a couple of times. Day trips consisted of taking the ferry to Capri, taking the train to Herculaneum, taking the train to Naples and driving the rental car to Paestum. During a previous trip, we stayed on Capri at the La Minerva for five nights. It was nice to day trip to the island and revisit some familiar sights. Naples is a bit dodgy. It is quite dirty and filled with graffiti. However, it contains some amazing art treasures including several Caravaggios, the world class archaeological museum and the sculpture of the veiled Christ by Sanmartino. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Herculaneum. It is more compact than Pompeii and in many ways, is better preserved. Get the audio guide and spend several hours at this unique site. Paestum is located south of Salerno. You really need a car to visit. It boasts a collection of greek temples that are unrivaled in Italy except by those found in Agrigento. The small museum and existing temples were quite fascinating.
We ended up dining most nights at Moonlight which is a casual restaurant / pizzeria located about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We also dined in Sorrento at Tavern Allegra. Good food along with live musical entertainment.

We had a lovely room with a huge balcony, the breakfast was delicious with freshly cooked eggs, and the view from the breakfast room is spectacular. If you want a quiet holiday in beautiful surroundings, I highly recommend this hotel.
