This was our third visit in three years and our stay was as good as ever. The real joy of this hotel is the staff. Receptionists, restaurant and bar staff and chamber maids are all brilliant - friendly, helpful and accommodating. I have an allergy to egg, and once told about it, the head waiter - Pino - checks each meal to ensure it's ok for me to eat, and if it isn't suggests an alternative - even it means them making something which isn't on the menu.
The hotel itself is well equipped and clean. It's a nice distance out of Sorrento itself, meaning you can escape the hussle and bussle. It's a 20min walk to town but the free shuttle bus is great if you don't fancy the walk. The hotel is only 10 min walk to the railway station, which is on the line from Sorrento and Naples. This is brilliant for getting to the likes of Pompeii (25 mins), Vesuvius and Herculenium (35 mins).
I am very fussy about where I stay - I don't like to be disturbed by other people's noise or rowdy behaviour - and the fact I have stayed here three times indicates the nature of folks that stay here. That said, we always holiday before uk schools break up.
We stayed on half-board basis. Breakfast offers a fair range of choices, and dinner usually offers 4-5 choices for each course. The quality of dinner does vary but on the whole is good value.
I wondered whether staying for a third time would be a mistake and thought it would be our last time for a while but within half an hour of getting back to the UK, we decided we would go again next year!
In short, if you like a quiet, convenient hotel, this is for you but if you want activities, music and nightlife, you should consider one of the bigger hotels in Sorrento itself.
