“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

We've just returned from 5 nights at this gorgeous villa. We were a group of 5. My parents, myself and my two children aged 8 and 5. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The villa itself was just beautiful, and our rooms were the two rooms outside the house itself in the communal garden area, which both had a small private garden area. The rooms were perfect with my children, as they could run around, make noise and really relax. Our rooms were completely private on top of that.

The pool area was just gorgeous as well, and the kids loved playing in the big garden area and the pool. We could relax with a cappuccino or glass of wine while they played safely, after returning from a day of touring.

The attention from the staff was excellent. The two young girls who ran the reception area were second to none. They were so accommodating and nothing was too much hassle.

I initially chose this hotel/bed and breakfast based on reviews from trip advisor, and I wasn't disappointed. It was as beautiful and peaceful as I'd hoped.

If you want to be in the hustle and bustle of sorrento, then it may not be for you, as the easiest way to get to sorrento was to take the bus, a two minute walk from the hotel into the town itself which was 10 mins away, but if you want somewhere peaceful, beautiful and elegant that has plenty of space I couldn't recommend a better place to stay.

Room Tip: Junior suites with private garden were great if you have children and/or want more privacy.

This was a great hotel for us as it allowed both of our children, 7 & 9, to sleep in the same room, which is paramount to us. The room was simple but chic, the bathrooms are contemporary but a nice size, we had a great balcony to sit out on at night if we wished. The pool area is fab, sun all day round if a little fresh once you got in the pool! The hotel is ideally located to make use of the beach and restaurants nearby. The staff at the hotel both Nina and Maria were always quick to greet you with a Bonjourno and a smile. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Breakfast was a simple continental with local fresh fruit and yogurt. Eggs of your choice could be cooked upon request.

It was also extremely easy to hop onto the train nearby to visit Pompeii only a 30 minute train away. There was also a hover jet that you could hop over to see Capri if you wished.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay, the only thing that let it down was the rock hard pillows! No alternatives were available, however if you drink enough Prosecco you can just pass out on them!

We just spent four days at the villa and really enjoyed our time there. Everything is done to perfection and the staff was extremely helpful with directions, reservations and any other needs. It was nice to come back to a quiet, serene place after touring the city for an afternoon glass of wine and a swim. Although it's about a 20 minute walk to town, you get a real slice of Sorrento life along the way. We'll definitely be back for a return visit!

Room Tip: Get a room facing the ocean!

The villa is on the edge of town but for us that was a good thing. It is beautiful with a lovely garden and high ceilinged rooms. The rooms are not huge and the furniture is fairly simple but everything is designed to actually work - not always the case in hotels where they sometimes seem to design with no thought that people will be staying. Everyone there is lovely, charming and helpful.

We have just had 10 wonderful days at the Villa.

If you enjoy peace and quiet, being treated as an individual rather than a room number and like small hotels this is the place to stay.

Everything about the villa has already been covered in the other reviews in terms of the rooms, location and cleanliness. One of the best hotels we have stayed in and with only 9 rooms you can enjoy the space and tranquility. All the staff were very friendly . Maria and Nina were particularly helpful and are a real asset to the Villa.

Whilst there is no restaurant, the are plenty of nice restaurants to get a great evening meal nearby. The walk in to Sorrento provides the opportunity to enjoy a more " tourist" feel. A little further away ( car or taxi ) a visit to La Tagliata is an absolute must.

Excellent stay at this great boutique hotel in May 2014
They offer a nice light breakfast which is healthier than any other food options you will find in sorrento!
Beautiful garden area by the pool which is great for relaxing
Maria and Nina on reception were a real asset to the team and helpful with all requests
Wouldn't hesitate to stay again

We stayed at Vila Dei D'Armiento for 5 nights before moving on to Amalfi. After a very early morning flight, to be greeted so kindly was very much welcomed. The villa itself is stunning and decorated beautifully. Both the pool area and gardens are ideal for catching your breath between trips around the area. All of the staff (especially Maria) are incredibly helpful and make you feel very much at home. Each day can be started with a peaceful breakfast sitting on the terrace in the gardens. There is a wonderful restaurant at the end of the road, overlooking the sea and back on to Sorrento. I highly recommend Vila Dei D'Armiento.
