“Nice but not ideal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

On the whole the hotel is pleasant. It is very well designed, the rooms are comfortable (we especially appreciated climate control system) and clean. I wish the rooms were larger but it’s not a big problem. There are some other moments that could be improved as they are a little bit inconvenient for the guests. The first thing is that one cannot pay for all-inclusive when he has come to the hotel if he had booked the room by booking.com. The second peculiarity is that it’s impossible to pay more than 990 euros at once in cash. One more little inconvenience is lack of tea and coffee facilities in the rooms and all necessary little things such as soap, cotton pads, sewing kit, etc., that the hotels all over the world suggest. There were only two bottles with bath gel in the bathroom which was used as a soap, gel and shampoo, but it’s very inconvenient (especially for children) to twist off и turn the top each time. So we went to the shop and bought all the necessary things.
But the thing I haven’t understood at all is that the family of 3 persons can use only 2 lounges at the hotel’s beach. It’s not a joke. As soon as we all sat to our lounges the beach boy appeared immediately and picked the lounge out my husband’s … well his part of body. There were very little people at the beach and the major part of lounges were vacant but still we were not allowed to occupy three lounges. We were astonished. We have visited many countries and have never come across such a case. Besides that boy insisted we sat at one and the same lounge all the time though we didn’t see any figures on them showing that certain lounges refer к certain rooms and all the rest guests sat where they wanted. Unfortunately the beach boy didn’t speak English so it was difficult to communicate with him. When he couldn’t explain smth to us he simply carried our clothes from one lounge to another.
So on the whole the hotel is nice though management leaves much to be desired.
The best what we met in Subbia was the stuff. They were all very friendly, helpful and hospitable, we were deeply touched by their attitude to our child. They treated him with his favourite milk shake every morning though they never cooked it before. Our special thanks to Alla, she was a wonderful company during our stay and helped us a lot fulfilling the role of translator. Thanks for all!
I’d like to say some words about San Vincenzo. It’s an Italian variant of Kabardinka. A small quiet place, not very interesting itself but having a nice position. There are no shops and restaurants there, beach leisure is not terrific, but you can easily go to numerous interesting places not far from San Vincenzo. We had really wonderful time taking some one-day tours.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2010

The sounds of the waves from the room overlooking the sea were calming and relaxing. The room was well-appointed. The bed was comfortable. The place was modern and elegant. The beach was a few feet from the hotel and the swimming was great, even if no one else was in the water this time of year. The staff were very helpful and attentive and gave us the instructions we needed for our trip to Elba. The internet access was free. The elevator to all floors was an important touch for my elderly mom.
