The restaurant is situated in the old town and the interior reflects this with the old uneven walls and arched shaped ceilings. On entering the restaurant we were not sure what to expect, we arrived a little early and the restaurant had just opened however the staff were extremely nice and we sat downstairs where we had a relaxing drink and some nibbles. It was possible to sit in an other room where there were a number of instruments known as hookahs where you smoke flavoured tobacco. Unsure of what this was the staff were happy to explain.....and it is legal!!
We were then taken upstairs where although quiet the restaurant still seemed to have a lot of atmosphere. Our food was extremely tastey and very enjoyable. we had 3 courses followed by some mint tea. This tea is highly recommended! Very sweet! And just out of curiosity we ordered an alcoholic tea cocktail off the extensive tea cocktails menu! Something that I have never seen before. The staff were limited in their English but made every effort to speak with us about the restaurant and the san remo area. On receiving the bill we were given a wee grappa. Lovely touch to the end of a lovely meal. Highly recommended for those who are not scared to try something a bit different!
