We stopped at this hotel during our vacation in Italy and south of France. The hotel is located on the hill overlooking Mediteranian. Hotel was built in 1920th but in a great shape and condition. Parking is under hotel and cost additional 10 euro. The reception area is very small but personnel is great. The hotel has an "old"charm feeling, but very modern facility are hiding behind it. Everything worked perfectly. The room was large and clean with a nice balcony.
The hotel located 2-3 block from casino and 1 block from beach. The pool was spotless - we did not had time to use it. Breakfast was typical and variety was average. This is off season time for this hotel.

Stayed here August 2012 for 7 nights. staff very freindly and helpful room was clean comfy bed nice clean sheets but bathroom could do with a refurb.
Nice little balcony looking across palm trees and the sea in the distance.
Nice quite setting away from the main road and traffic noise and a 10 min walk to the centre of town lots of good restarants and bars to chose from. spent the morning by the pool and down the beach for the afternoon.

Stayed with friends one week in beginning of September. The first impression was somewhat disappointing with a very tiny front desk area. However, the staff was very kind and service minded. The rooms were small but had a nice balcony with a wiev over the pool area as well as the sea. The pool area was well equipped but the service of drinks etc could have been better. The hotel lockation is good (quiet) with walking distance to center.

We stayed in Sanremo mid August for a night and after reading the reviews, I had expected a bit more from the hotel. Our room was a standard double for 160 EUR the night - I assume the high price is down to the ultra-high season, it was the last room available. The room we had was very basic with a small window to the street and no balcony. The rest of the hotel looked a lot more charming, so maybe we were just unlucky. It was very clean though and my husband praised the bed.

Our deal included two chairs at a paid beach ('private' beach) just a short walk away. The beach there was lovely sand and the swimming area very shallow and protected by a rocky sea wall. Especially for children that was great, because even the smallest can stand in the sea.

The pool was surprisingly small but the pool guard rather attractive ;) also, the staff in general was very lovely and friendly. Especially the concierge, Massimo was delightful and helped us where he could.

So: great location, nice staff but make sure you get a nicer room than we did

Hotel Paradiso has everything that I've come to appreciate in small hotels: Family owned, a caring and knowledgeable front desk staff, beautifully landscaped grounds, a lovely swimming pool with comfortable sunbeds, umbrellas, and towels, beach access (again, with all the amenities), a comfortable and updated room with a large bathroom, a balcony with lovely views, delicious and varied breakfast offerings served on the patio, efficient maid service, serenity, but yet walking distance to the center of town. Hotel Paradiso had it all! San Remo has a very interesting and charming old town, which is above contemporary shops on pedestrian streets.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

This is the 3rd year my family and I have stayed at Hotel Paradiso. The hotel hasn't changed at all during this time and is probably looking a little dated now although still plesant enough. Rooms are clean and baalconies are very spacious but you would need to make sure your room isn't one over the roof of the dining room!

Whilst the some of the staff were friendly enough not all were. The lifeguard in particular couldn't have been more miserable, never once saying hello etc. The lifeguard also served any drinks etc which guests may have required whilst around the pool area. This could be improved by having a dedicated member of staff to provide this, hopefully someone more approachable.

Otherwise a good hotel in a good location, about ten minute walk to the town centre with many shops bars and restaurants.

Room Tip: Avoid a room overlooking the roof of the dining room

We stayed ta Hotel Paradiso in June 2012. It is set a few houses away from the seafront with gorgeous views over the Italian Riviera. The room was very comfortable with a large balcony facing the sea, and the staff most helpful. The pool was immaculately maintained although there is a shortage of shade at some times of the day. The meals were very good and quite imaginative. There is parking on site. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: The south-facing rooms have a sea view. Go for a higher floor.
