“Love love love it!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

We went here because of the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and the restaurant still exceeded our expectations! This place impressed the pants off me (literally, I had to undo the top button on my jeans). It's a little restaurant tucked within La Pigna - you have to ring the doorbell to enter, walk down a small corridor into what feels like a tiny apartment, and then it opens up to a warm little restaurant with just five large tables. The owner is so welcoming and seemingly loves everything about his job. They spoil you with a few complimentary (and homemade) aperitifs and digestifs, which the owner never fails to join in on!! I had a ravioli dish which was all homemade with a local herb (I cannot remember the name of it), and naturally, it was absolutely delicious. The highlight of my feast here was the dessert – vanilla ice-cream dressed with a balsamic sauce and pepper… I’m not kidding. It was AWESOME! Service, food, wine, dessert, vibe - everything about this place is just brilliant!

“the best food in san remo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

We booked a table here on the basis of trip advisor reviews, and were not dissapointed. Everything was as expected and more, the service and quality of the food was exceptional, and what a relief after being "overcome by pasta , pasta and even more pasta" where ever we went. The menu here is different from everything else in the town, totally unique and cooked to perfection. We were guided through the menu by the head (and only) waiter who described each item perfectly, and recommended the wine to accompany our choice. Meanwhile the owner who is a total one off, was chatting constantly to each table in turn, firstly giving each an amouse bouche with his own made basil infused water that was used as a base in a glass of Prosecco, we had home made bread as well. Before desserts were served, he came along with a glass of Marsala, and after dessert we had home made Orangella or home made Lemoncream, both made with fruit from his own garden. I may add he toasted each table himself as he dished out these excellent free drinks. The bill for the two of us was 88euro the first time, and 76 euro the second. This was for everything, 3 courses, a bottle of wine, water, coffee and all the extra drinks, and of course the free entertainment. We had 10 nights in San Remo, and whilst this was the most expensive, it was without doubt the best dining experience of our trip. I fully recommend this restaurant.

“Very Nice Food in a Tavern Style Setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

A small restaurant in the old town of San Remo. Initially the service was very slow with only one waiter on the floor. But it picked up with a surprise local cocktail, and some amazing Ravioli and local fish soup and very nice Orange-cello to finish, made by the old man of the restaurant.
The food is typically local, and the atmosphere warm. Enjoy!

“Great dining experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012 via mobile

Very original food in a very pleasant environment. The service was great and personal. It was a pity that all other guest arrived at the same time. Because of that we had to wait very long after we finished our main course and could order our desert. This place is however highly recommended!

“doubt about being no.1..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

Food was ok, service was friendly, but i highly doubt if this restaurant is no.1 in San Remo. i kind of regret that i had only one night there to spare, and i went to this restaurant because of the high rate on this website... There must be something better, i guess!
