My husband and I stayed at one of the Bellerophon suites (601). From the moment we arrive at the residence we felt absorbed in the style and small luxury of the place. We were welcomed with complimentary drinks and delicious snacks, our bags were collected from the car and taken to our room and we were given a brief talk about the place before shown to our beautiful suite.
We arrived about an hour or less before check-in time (3pm) but were not given a tour of the residence and facilities. The lady at the reception (Viviana) told us we would do this in the morning (which never happened) and this was a bit of a disappointment. We felt we could not use the spa because of this and the rest of the day felt a bit awkward. We were quite tired from our long journey so in the end we decided to just go for a little walk around the village and relax at the apartment which had great views of the mountains. The balcony felt very private as we were in the top floor but if we had gotten a room in any of the lower floors we would have probably not felt as private. Some rooms faced the building on the side and some we could even see the people sitting on their balconies as we walked past - I would have not liked to be in one of those rooms. So I was glad we got a very nice room.
Everything inside the room was very stylish and functional - everything. Absolutely gorgeous place, I could probably live in it. The shower was the best, a real rain shower. Separate bath tub big enough for two and separate toilet. The bed is huge and to be honest, we thought it was a bit too big - it almost felt like you were sleeping in two separate beds. But in overall, beautiful and very cosy place. The kitchen has everything you need to make a quick meal for two, we had some nice pasta twice. We had a problem with the wi-fi connection at first, and this is when the staff let me down once more. Although they tried to be helpful it almost felt that it was our fault that it was not working. No one came to have a look at the problem just kept saying that it should be my computer. They tried to do something from their computer in reception and still didn't work. In the end, I tried a different socket for the wi-fi router cable and this worked.
Now, breakfast - as you will read in the other reviews, breakfast is not to be missed. And the lady helping in the breakfast area was such a star - very different from the reception staff - she was always very happy and chatty. The food was so delicious it was really sad to leave the breakfast room every time.
The spa is very nice - the girl in the spa reception was very helpful and nice to talk to - but the little outside area with the sun loungers is a bit ridiculous, sorry. The loungers face a school playground and because the road is right in front/back of the hotel it is not relaxing at all. People can see you from the playground and the noise of the cars passing by is really uncomfortable. Instead of this open area the hotel should invest in closing it and put a jacuzzi - which is definitely something that is missing. Also, it is a nude spa - you can wear your bathrobe and towel but there will be quite a few people walking around naked... if you fancy that you are in for a treat. But if you are not used to as us, you will find yourself a bit uncomfortable.
My husband had a massage which he said was not that great and I had a body treatment followed by a massage which was also just ok. The teas they offer in the spa are great though!
The village is very small but there are a lot of trails for walking around, but you are better off to have a car to venture to other villages as there are quite a few not too far. We had food in two restaurants in the village which I don't record the name but was really good. The hotel offered a 4 course dinner one of the evenings but we decided not to go for it as the whole menu was cooked with apples... we thought it was a bit too much.
I ended up breaking my ankle in one of our last walks a day before we were going to leave. I had to have surgery and stay for a few nights at the hospital in Brunico. My husband said that the lady in the breakfast room was very sympathetic but not the one in reception (Viviana).
Anyway, the overall of our stay was still very good. You don't really need to talk much with the people in reception as it is a residence after all - all you need is to have a great suite and be well served at breakfast and that's what we got. We went for an autumn break and we spent a lot of time out and about and the Lagacio was a nice place to go back to in the afternoons. However, I would probably consider a different hotel next time, perhaps somewhere without so much noise of cars passing by when you are sitting in the balcony and with an outside area that you can actually sit to relax - on our way around the villages we saw quite a few potential places.
