“excelent hotel for wintersport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Thanks to the staff of the hotel I had a great time in Sauze d'Oulx.
Always friendly and patient and always willing to help.
I made a remark to a friend that my pillow was to hard and somehow the manager heard this.
The same evening a soft pillow on my bed with a little note: "we hope this one is better"
That is the service I am looking for and that is what is making my time a perfect time.

The diner is not Haute Cuisine but it is just good!
At the time I was there every day I could choose between meat, fish or vegetarian.
Always made from fresh ingredients and everyday something different.
Same goes for the breakfast there is enough to choose from and always fresh.

The rooms are spacious and light with a clean and modern bathroom and good beds,
Only the pillow was to hard for me but that was solved instantly.

The Hotel is situated in the centre of Sauze with plenty of night live.
I think the hotel is one of the closest to the ski lifts that you can find in Sauze and for met that is perfect. (i like skying but not walking on those terrible shoes for to long)

All together it is not an "upper class society hotel" but just a good hotel. with good food, good rooms a good location and an excellent service!

One more thing: there works a small woman with a sparkling laughter. Her name is Lory.
Ask her about her twin sister and I am sure you get a free beer from her ;-)

we were 4 guys, almost 40, that spent a week snowboarding @ Sauze.
the basis was half-board, which I think is the standard.
the hotel, a European style family run small business was very nice.
the location was very close to the ski-lifts.
dinner was great. fresh traditional food cooked on the place, with a selection of dishes which we enjoyed very much.
the owner, Ms Loredana was very helpful, always smiling, and catered all our requests even when she was extremely busy.
great choice for skiing. also suitable for families

Room Tip: free wifi on the lobby which is also recepted in the bottom floors. no wifi on the top floors

Just returned from a fabulous week's ski holiday. The hotel is ideally situated close to the lifts, on the main street through the village, opposite a supermarket & adjacent to a club/bar. Disadvantage of a front facing room is noise from the street & bars at night, if the windows are open. The bedrooms are very clean, if a bit old-fashioned, but the bathrooms have been updated. The staff work very hard, the cleaners keep the place spotlessly clean & the staff in the restaurant are friendly & helpful. Special mention to LoreDana, who speaks good English & was very pleasant & helpful. The food was good, which was a nice surprise after reading some of the earlier reviews. Wifi slowed down noticeably at peak times when everyone was in, but still acceptable.
We would return, but will book a room at the back.

I statyed here in feb 2012 - 3rd visit to sauze in a row, i usually stay at relais des alpes which i cant recommend highly enough!! however it was sadly booked up.
The hotel is clean, rooms small but comfy, warm and adequate with refurbished bathroom, close to nightlife and most importantly close to the slopes - 5 mins walk max.
Now onto the bad points....
The food was terrible!!!! - breakfast - no cooked items, just cold continental breakfast - with limited choice. Evening meal was appalling - 3 courses..eg. Soup, (main) chicken breast and stewed cabbage (with nothing else on the plate) and desserts which were watched over by the very serious looking (miserable) manager/owner, it was a running joke on our table who dare go for seconds! Each evening you had one main item - fish, chicken etc and one accompaniment and a very empty looking plate and stomach.....you also had to order your evening meal the previous night, at least this gave you the option of eating out once you saw the menu.
It didn't spoil our holiday as we were there to board. Would i return there? probably, given the price and just for the evening meal comedy factor!! Sauze is a great resort, however doing tignes this year for a change.
Book early! Book relais des alpes!

Great hotel for a weeks skiing. Hotel is in a great position about 700 yards from clotes chair lift & a few yards walk from many bars & Resturants in the middle of sauze. For any 1 not wanting to carry there skis & boots up the hill to the lift there is a great ski & boot store at the bottom of clotes lift go in & see paolo chalp he's a legend very helpful & boots are always warm in a morning. The hotel it's self was very clean & tidy, the bar is well stocked, the room were of a good size although bath could have done with being a tad bigger to stretch out after a hard days skiing. Food in hotel was ok nothing special breakfast was normal cereal, tea, coffee, toast, fruit, juice which was served from 8 am. Dinner was served from 7.30pm 3 courses pasta or soup, then meat, fish or omelet, sweet/desert was some form of cake. Over all the food was ok, but would have like meat, potatos & veg not 1 or the other. The staff at the hotel were fantastic looking after us. All in all I would stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel on the 8th Jan for 1 weeks half board on our ski trip. The hotel is in a great position for the clotes ski lift just a short walk away up the hill. There are plenty bars including the best one in sauze Paddys which is dead opposite. The hotel itself is clean and tidy and the bathrooms and toilets have all been refurbished to a high standard. Some of the staff seem a bit serious but thats Italy The food was reasonable and the restraunt staff were really nice and helpful even rushing off to make me an omelette when I didn't like my veal one night. The night porter even made us a coffee when we had to leave early on our flight it was mainly Italian people staying in the hotel probably a good sighn although it's good sometimes to talk with other English skiers at dinner but overall I would recommend this hotel and stay there again great value for money
3 English guys cheers

Pros: We stayed at the hotel for the first week of February 2011. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife got an injury while skiing, and they took us to the First Aid. Unfortunately we had to go to the hospital, and the hotel staff took care of our children, and brought a meal to our room since we were late for the dinner. The breakfast was excellent, and the dinner was good (3 choices for the first and the second courses + desserts). When our younger daughter didn't like something they always offered another dish.
Cons: To get to the ski lift you must go 100m up the hill, which we did every morning (one could also use the free ski-bus that stops just in front of the hotel), the beds were not very comfortable, but ok.
