“Quirky & Great Value but No Gravy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

We stayed at this little family run hotel recently. It was clean with friendly attentive staff who served good hot meals to a high standard. We found a few quirky things worth commenting on though,

BREAKFAST - Breakfast is laid out in two separate rooms separated by the bar which means you must get your own tea/coffee, toast and scrambled egg and then carry it through the bar to the dining room where the rest of the breakfast items are waiting on a self service table..It seemed odd not to have everything in the same dining room.
DINNER ( Served only at a fixed time) was based on a self service salad bar, plus a system of ordering your choice of 1st & 2nd courses the day before. The sweet course can't be chosen and was always a surprise. Oh and one last thing!, they say when in Rome do as the Romans do. We did accepted the lack of usual 'English style' vegetables with the hot meals (the alternatives were delicious) but the tinned peas were a bit of a disappointment and the lack of gravy served with the meat dishes was commented on by a number of fellow guests. In addition, the time between each course was a little slow considering that courses for each table had been ordered the previous day. This meant you were twiddling your thumbs whilst waiting for the next course to arrive.
ROOMS A little dated but adequate. Comfortable beds, a foreign channel TV and a nice sheltered high sided balcony to sit on. The single lift which serviced each floor was a bit slow and only carried two people with luggage which meant a long queue when a coach party arrived.
LOCATION - A 15 minute walk from the lakeside. There is a Co-op supermarket right behind the hotel and a Liddle store only five minutes walk away.

The above comments are meant as observations rather than criticism because despite its quirkiness, I would still recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a clean, friendly, budget hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room on the first floor to avoid waiting & queuing for the lift

This is a great family run hotel it is clean outside and inside the rooms are of a good standard the only fault is the small en suite. The staff are friendly and attentive the bar man who also waits on at tea time is a joker and makes guess laugh the food her is one of the best our table of four had no complaints we sent back empty plates if you have a small appetite you will not be able to finish all the courses. My fella is very messy but the room was so tidy when we returned from days out he was impressed we where in room 206 and our fellow travellers were in 208 a very enjoyable stay would definatly recommend to friends and family

our first trip to Italy was enhanced by this Hotel. the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. it was a mini honeymoon for us and on our last night the hotel set us up a lovely candlelit table and decorated our chairs and gave us special dessert. we went with national holidays and it is a bit grueling with the early starts and some late nites due to chatting to the other lovely travelers during the free bar.... the food was always tasty and you do get a choice, however the salad bar was a little repetitive. but breakfast more than made up for it. we love continental breakfasts and it was fresh and very filling. the co op was very handy for snacks during the excursions and to take home. and the setting of the hotel was breathtaking. my new husband and i often sat on our balcony looking at the mountains and just relaxing. thoroughly recommend this hotel

We stayed here with National Holidays. Our previous Italian holiday (Sorrento) had been in a similarly-sized family-run hotel, and this was in a very similar vein.

Very friendly staff, great service, and fantastic food.

Breakfast is served in the conservatory, with the views of the Dolomites above the hotel, with a wide selection of good fresh food.

Dinner - and there is lots of it - is served by super-friendly waiting staff in the main restaurant area. On one night, there was a special gala evening, complete with slow-roast suckling pig. My partner is a vegetarian, and the staff were more than happy to offer vegetarian alternatives.

They really do make you feel like part of the family.

The hotel itself is a little way outside the town centre, but is walkable...about 15 or 20 minutes down to the lakeside. Alhtough we went towards the end of the season, there was still enough activity in the evening to make the main town worth a visit...just sitting in a cafe, people watching, and even making a few new friends.

We had a wonderful time, and would happily go back

lovely hotel with friendly staff rooms cleaned daily
only draw back to this hotel is the distance from the lake it`s self 15-20mins walk which some elderly people found difficult ... taxi cost 9euro each way ...

Room Tip: 307 family room over looking front of hotel balcony and larger bedrooms

we went with national holidays for 6 nights, the hotel was clean and the food very, staff friendly and helpful, it was just the location a good 15/20 minutes walk to the resort but the local bus station is brill you can get a tourist bus to take you to other resorts along the lake, for only a few euros, well worth it

Stayed here for 6 nights as part of a National Holidays trip.
Our previous experience of Italian hotels was not that good, so this one turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
In a quiet location about a 15 to 20min slight downhill walk into the centre of town.
Very nice public areas - Dining room, lounge, bar, large conservatory for breakfast and lounging around during the day.
Large outside patio area and very nice (but cold, so I'm told) swimming pool.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendlier.
Home cooked food was very tasty and well presented.
Helpings were not large but adequate for most people and there was always plenty of bread and salad available.
Breakfast is served in the conservatory and consists of a wide selection of cereals, fruit, cold meats, breads and of course - cake !
Also an unlimited supply of tea, coffee or juices,
My only gripe would be that the en-suite was a bit small, but that did not deter from what was a very pleasant stay - Recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool area get the sun most of the day. Rooms at the front are in the shade vi...
