“A pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2011

The hotel was spotless and our room was comfortable. We loved the pool across the road which was quiet and very clean. There was always a member of staff there to give us drinks from the small bar.

The hotel was just our base and we spent very little time there, no entertainment and its on a busy road The staff were friendly and we are Brittish so had no problems like the other reviewer did.

If you are a "foodie" then I would not recommend half board. The evening meals were rather poor so we ate out every night. I felt having to choose what you want for tea in the morning a little like being in a nursing home.

Our room was at the back and at half 7 every morning the bins were emptied by a rather noisy lorry. However we dud get used to it and Prefer early mornings anyway!

The location was perfect for us,

We stayed at this hotel for a week on half board basis and had to eat out most nights as the food menus were very disappointing and the 2 nights we stayed in we were disappointed with the meals!

The hotel also seemed to be experiencing problems with the electricity as it kept cutting out quite a bit all the manger could say to us was that the batteries kept running out!

I have stayed in riva 4 times now I would not go back to this hotel ever again u get what u pay for i suppose

Had a wonderful week here (just returned). Spotless, lovely food and nice rooms. It was lovely to be served with your evening meal rather than a buffet. The pool across the road was set in its own garden and was beautiful. It was only two minutes to the lake and 20 mins walk into town. Staff were lovely and helpful our stay was very relaxing. Would recommend it to anyone certainly more than 3 star.

My new husband & i booked the hotel riveria as a base for our wedding & honey moon. The whole two weeks exceeded all our expectations along with the nine guests that joined us the first week. The hotel was spotless and extemely comfy. All the staff were more than helpful and always cheerful. The food was excellent with a good choice on the menu each evening, we never left hungry once.

The hotel was in an excellent spot and you can easily walk in Tarbole or Riva town. Both directions are a beautiful walk along the lake. The pool area was very clean and pretty with plenty of sunloungers and seats. I would recommend for any to stop at the hotel and hopefully my husband and myself will return on one of our anniverseries

Stayed here for a week with Thomson and really had no complaints. The rooms were immaculate, and the views over the lake and mountains were breathtaking. The garden and pool were wonderful, and although the town was around a twenty minute walk away, the lakeside/ beach path was beautiful at night. The walk along the main road was completely safe and it was useful for popping into the supermarket etc. Food was excellent. The only thing about the hotel is that there really wasn't much atmosphere and the staff were a little reserved (this may have been a language barrier.)

But lovely hotel anyway.

This is a small family run hotel. The owners are very friendly and did look after their guests very well offering a personal feel. The rooms were small but adequate and had all the main requirements, we had paid extra for a balcony with a lake view and had a wonderful view of the mountains and lake. The hotel was clean and tidy and it is clear the hotel owners take pride in the appearance of the hotel. The garden with swimming pool is across the road but very pleasant with plenty of chairs and sun loungers and trees to provide shade. There is a jacuzzi in the garden as well although we didn't use this. The food is ok but not very Italian, more German - the owners are German - and although I couldn't complain about what I had and the portions were adequate, they do overcook the vegetables and the choices were a bit limited - a 3-3-3 menu to be chosen at breakfast each day. They did have 2 special gala evenings while we were there. That said if you couldn't eat anything on the menu then I am sure they would try to accommodate your needs. There is no entertainment so if this is what you want this is not the hotel for you. The hotel is situated on the main lake road which is busy but we didn't hear the traffic with the doors closed and I would not describe this as a problem. There are a lot of other hotels in the area and a variety of restaurants and bars and a couple of supermarkets close by. It is about a 20 minute walk into Riva town either via the road or the more scenic lakeside path and about the same to Torbole along the lake path. Both routes have a couple of places to stop for refreshments and plenty of seats if you wish to stop on route. The lake itself and the general location is fabulous and much more scenic than the south of the lake where there are less mountains. From Riva you can take the ferry to other local towns and there are local buses which are accessible from close to the hotel or Riva itself. Overall for a pretty good location and if you are looking for a basic clean hotel I would recommend this hotel.

Just back from an 11 night stay at the Riviera in Riva. The views from the balcony were stunning and the Location perfect for walking to Torbole and the centre of Riva. The hotel staff very friendly. The rooms and public areas clean and well kept. The family that run the hotel and the staff were very helpful. The private pool and garden is situated accross the road and has a hot tub and facilities. Riva is perfect for those who want to cycle, sail and surf and there are beautiful scenic walks. It is easy to visit other areas of the lake using the catamaran boats and close enough to visit the Dolomites, Verona and Venice.
