“Fabulous stay at Lido Palace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

We stayed at Lido Palace on the 24.5-27.5.2013. Despite of experiencing slightly poor weather during our stay, this was compensated by all what we experienced in the hotel. Service from the start was great, restaurant offered excellent food with expertise and we enjoyed of the facilities what the hotel could offer. We spent a memorable stay and will surely come back one day.

Dear Ismo and Jaana, I am delighted to know that your experience at the Lido Palace has been excellent throughout the stay although the weather condition has not been as the period should be.
It is really rewarding to hear that the services and the staff behavior have in some way compensated the lack of nice weather.
I hope to welcome back at the Lido Palace

We had low expectations for this trip, but have just finished an absolutely wonderful 4 night/5 days at the Lido Palace. This is a gem of a hotel. Beautifully remodelled, with combination of old/new architecture, the rooms are wonderful, there are great public spaces, and an outstanding spa. The location, right on the side of the lake, is perfect, and protected from public view and the promenade by large grounds and mature trees.
As always with properties at this level, it's the staff that make it. They were consistently excellent, and in only 4 - 5 days they became friendly, familiar faces.
This is an outstanding property in every way and I can not praise it enough - it is a perfect base from which to explore the surprisingly vibrant town, and a local area with an abundance of walking and bike trails.

We have stayed at the Lido Palace a number of times and love it. They offer so much - different meal plans, or no meal plan - you choose.

Great pool with wonderful staff to take care of your drinks and tapas as you sit by the pool and read & swim!

The rooms have always bee large and comfortable and the views are fantastic.

Boating, swimming or just walking the streets... We love Riva!

I spent 3 days at Lido Palace together of my wife at the end of December. I was a sort of romantic escape and this hotel has been the perfect location.

The building is historic and this is properly communicated but it has been recently renovated and all room are modern and contemporarly fitted. You can enjoy all conforts and you will have wonderful views from the window of the room.

Service is obviously perfect as you can expect from an hotel of this level, everyone was welcoming, cheering, really helpful and clear with explanations whenever necessary.

A very strong point of the hotel is its SPA that has a very nice and elegant pool and warm area, again the staff is wondeful in the area and they don't let you alone, they always try to give help and suggestions. I must say that, being used to Asian SPAs, the level of treatments (massage) is just average but the overall judgement is very good.

About the dinner, staying inside the hotel is an excellent experience, the menu is wonderful (even if it doesn't change from night to night) and the food is particular, sophisticated and just great. You can recognize that they have a Michelin star chef. He is specialized on seafood and they have a really complete wine list with a experienced sommelier.

The only point that can be improved is the bed that is not as confortable as you expect at this level.

Anyway the experience is excellent and I really hope I will be able to stay again.

Room Tip: Ask a room directly looking at the lake (not on the side of the building)

This is quite simply the best hotel experience I have ever came across.
The 5 star rating does not do it justice, I have stayed in plenty of 5 star hotels prior to this one.
The room was superbly designed with a huge bed. The storage facilities were also excellent.
The bathroom and shower was also well presented..
We had a personal balcony which offered superb views of the lake, mountains, garden and town.

The design of the hotel in fusing the modern and classic architecture was absolutely uniquely stunning. The modern foyer and reception gently flowing into the old thoroughly beautiful building worked superbly.
The hotel grounds were well manicured with an abundance of colourful flowers, shrubs and trees.

The two pools, one inside and one outside, were very good. However the Spa facilities offered were total luxury.

Now to the good bit, the food.
Breakfast was absolutely fabulous and cooked individually to order with the best baked and varieties of breads and cakes. All drinks, bubbly if required. We're superb.

The dining evenings in the restaurant were an experience worth it's weight in gold. The menu offered a varied selection of exquisite culinary delights. The food was cooked by a Michelin chef, whom we were introduced to on our last evening. Each course was interspersed by tasty samples of chef's own creations.

I make no excuse of using 'superb' to often but that is the only word which can truly describe the gastronomic experience.

The staff appeared to be genuinely interested in our comments and even took notes to hand back to the chef about our opinions.

All proprietress of 5 star facilities should be sent here to encounter for themselves as to what a true 5 star experience is all about.

Room Tip: Take up the option of dining with your package. It is out of this world.

Simply Superb. A near perfect experience with excellent staff and service. Nothing was too much trouble and everything done professionally and with class.

Enjoyable from start to finish.

We went for a relaxing few days and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The hotel was elegant and tasteful with plenty of space but the staff made it intimate and friendly.

We ate in the restaurant and had an excellent meal with the highlight being the sommelier who could not have done more. We also ate out with the staff on the front desk making perfect recommendations and taking care of transport and bookings.

We used the spa facility a lot and the treatments that were available. Again very relaxing and the staff were excellent.

We will be staying again in the future as we have to explore Lake Garda more but we would be happy to return just to stay in the hotel.

I spent 2 nights away on business and thoroughly enjoyed this superb hotel. Wonderful location , breathtaking scenery, fabulous designer features sympathetically done to complement the original features. This hotel can boast exellent staff and great facilities. Most definately a place to go to be looked after, pampered and to feel very special and privilieged.
