We stayed at this wonderful hotel for two weeks half board, although having booked through Thomson we also had a free lunch. Afternoon tea and cakes were also available to all guests. Our daughter is Coeliac, and the range of gluten free food, and the knowledge of the restaurant staff, was amazing - special thanks to Hakim, Felice and the Chef! We particularly enjoyed having an allocated table, with waiter service for all but the starters. The served portions weren't huge, but with four courses we never went hungry, and if there was a course that someone didn't like it was no problem for them to provide an alternative. Wine and water were also included, which is a nice touch. The Gelateria directly opposite the hotel makes and sells the best ice-cream that we have ever tasted- most of which is gluten free!
Gabriella and the rest of the staff are very attentive and friendly, and make sure that you enjoy every aspect of your stay. Sonia is an absolute gem!
The hotel is very close to the lake, with a 20 minute walk into Riva, but with such stunning views along the lakeside it didn't feel that far. Even though the hotel is on a fairly busy road, it is set back far enough so that we didn't really notice it, even when staying around the pool.
The rooms were spotless, and the hotel very well maintained on the whole. Once the roof garden is finished this will be the finishing touch. out of the three sister hotels in this location The Garda is the best in our opinion, and we would definitely stay here again if we return to Lake Garda.
Boat trips to Limone and Malcesine are a must, and a trip to the Dolomites is not to be missed.
Ask for a higher floor if you want a mountain or lake view.
